I'm reading Eileen at the moment and it's fantastic, absorbing, dark and hilarious at times.

She's lovely, very honest about what it's really like being a writer P.S. I don't think she was arrogant. I was introduced to her by her short stories (quite a few free to read online, Paris Review) - which have all these wryly described mishaps, weird scenarios, and lumpy underdogs. I hope she wins tomorrow because she doesn't write typical lit fic and her edgy worlds and work deserve more readers. Good luck Ottessa!!!

Hurrah! She's great isn't she. We'll be publishing the stories early next year and then following that with her novella McGlue which is amazing!

What an interesting interview. She had some valid points to make, this in my opinion is honesty not arrogance. Looking forward to reading her book now. Big queue at the library for this. :-)

That's good to hear about the library. Not only that there's a queue but that there's a library still open at all! Ottessa is great and not arrogant at all, in fact she's very enthusiastic abour the books she's up against tonight. Anyway, in a few hours time we'll know who's won...!
