"TREADING ON THIN ICE" SEARCH FOR MONSTER BASS ICE FISHING

Fished a local pond looking to hook into some quality bass. This pond has never failed in producing some decent bass this time of the year. I ran my tips-ups in a staggered pattern at varying depths landing three nice bass with about 4 more that got away. The ice was a little thin running from 2.75 inch to around 3.50 inches. The cold air the night before made the ice strong enough for me to try. It took two good licks with the ice bar to punch threw the ice. Normally if i punch threw with one blow i back off and go somewhere else. The winds were calm with overcast skies. A snow storm was supposed to move into the area later that day but the forcasters got it wrong and the storm moved way north of the area. All-in-All it was a perfect day to do some ice fishing.
