But I wonder, how do we differentiate between the whispers of God and the noise of our own thoughts in the stillness of the night?
Our own thoughts will tend to be kind of a "broken record" of the things we've always said to ourselves, like worries, judgments against ourselves, otherwise negative concepts. converseley, when God speaks to us, even if it's really a challenge to us, it doesn't feel like pressure or anything negative; it usually will build us up or otherwise bless us and enable growth and transformation. That's been my experience
