At the exact moment that Jesus was crucified, the Bible says that the curtain (or “veil”) in the Temple tore “from top to bottom.” Why did that happen and what did it mean that the curtain tore “from top to bottom”? It is an often overlooked verse in the Bible surrounding the events of the crucifixion of Christ, but it is also one of the most liberating verses in all of the Bible because it speaks of new FREEDOM for humanity. In today’s teaching, Pastor Gary shares three significant reasons why God tore the curtain in the Temple and what it means for us today.

Our local theatre group put on a play called 'the ninth hour' a play about the day of the crucifixion but in Pilates house ,the significance did not become important until some years later when Jesus became my Lord and saviour .

Love Pastor Gary's teaching! In the book of Matthew he does mention an earthquake, (created by God) which would tear the curtain from the top.
Matthew 27:51-52 NLT
[51] At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart, [52] and tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.

The tearing of the curtain also signified God’s pain and anger at his Jewish people crucifying His son. It was a profound act of sin which God turned around to free us from sin.
I would like to know why my NKJV says “ the ghost left him” then immediately in Luke 1 Elizabeth Mary and Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost!
The ghost left Jesus but the Holy Ghost came upon the other three!

ghost as in spirit, basically he died. NKJV and KJV uses literal translation and obsolete English words. Which we no longer in use.

Of course no priest is sinless, which is why they first offer a sacrifice for themselves and go to the alter for others

Jesus is the only most high priest who's sinless! Genesis to Revelation there's proof of Jesus being the only interceder for us!

Pastor Hamrick stated the rope around the priest was Jewish tradition. He didnt say it was in the bible. The bible does say the priest had bells tied to the hem of his robe so they knew he didnt die.
The act and process of confession to a priest is the humility to admit our sins consciously to a spiritual human Father who then prays together with us for our forgiveness. We humble ourselves when we confess.
Your heavenly Father God, loves you, knows you and wants you to come to Him. His word says He will never turn away a humble heart and a contrite spirit. No need for intermediaries. Imagine if the only way to say sorry to our human parents, was through another (fallible) human person. Not much closeness or relationship, right?😊
