@@RavRoving only in the very beginning of my journey. I adapted, became a super minimalist, which has made it a million times easier. However, the Prius has a surprisingly large amount of storage space hidden all throughout the car.
I thought parking-camping in a 24-hour underground garage would be good when it was unbearably hot (or cold) out. So I tried it in downtown Chicago, and it did keep the vehicle cool. However, the cellular connection was horrible or inoperative even though I tried different levels and corners of the garage. So no UA-cam watching in that garage. The garage's website said they had internet, which I also tried, but it was unusably slow. But it did stay cool. Interesting experiment.
You're Awesome! Stay safe but keep traveling if you can. Chicago is the start of route 66 just a thought. Im a sub for life, peace from Central Texas Hook'em Horns 🤘
The Lincoln Zoo is the oldest privately owned zoo in the country. I love this zoo and Chicago, great place. Next time you go to Chicago, go to Beggar's Pizza! When I travel, I Google "Things to do ____" and that determines how long I stay and I can see and do what is appealing. I stayed in Chicago for a week. I never thought to stay overnight in a 24 hour parking garage! Great idea for one day visits!
Not enough people take advantage of the space gained by removing the front passenger seat. Nice Video. Next time you are in the city, park somewhere on Goose Island or in Wicker Park. Goose Island has no residential; there's always trucks and cars parked near the warehouses/businesses. Wicker Park is very walkable and has plenty of street parking(right around the sh!t fountain).
Good video. I'd love to see some safe & legal (oxymoron?) car camping spots. I'm probably going to be visiting in a few months & need to find some stealthy spots where I don't get shot or arrested.
Off street parking is always an option if you're stealthy. Just make sure you chose a good area. But if you're going to pay for parking anyway while you're there then that would be the best option. The parking attendant saw me in my car playing xbox and waved at me haha. So it's clear they didn't have any problems with it
You went back to Chicago??!! I'm shocked! I was so scared for you during your first trip there with the gunshots and someone trying to get into your car. I'm glad you parked somewhere else this time around. Keep up the great content! 😊 - Shay
@RavRoving U put it on the outside of your vehicle. And if someone messes with it. The alarm goes off. Of course, a cop might appreciate it. I've thought about it on my car. Haven't had anyone mess with mine though. (Thank God)
Chicago weather os unpredictable we never trust the meteorologist on the news because the weather always changes throughout rhe day, bring an umbrella, jacket, gloves because It can easily change in you

Nah, there are SO many safer areas in Chicago. Englewood was literally the worst first choice. There are plenty of safe neighborhoods. My experience was on the north side. Lakeview, Lincoln Park, Graceland West, just to name a few. You just have to be mindful of not parking where a permit is required. Chicago has dangerous areas like any city, but by no means is it “Chiraq”.
0:23 65th and Aberdeen in Englewood. I grew up around there, and never went back (yet) - Nope, not merely to look around.
How was it like living there?
@@RavRoving When you don't know anything else it's great.
Yeah, From South Englewood to Lincoln Park is about the biggest economic / social location change possible in Chicago...
That I learned 😂
bro I can't believe you're just chillin in the car like that. It's a badass setup.
Appreciate that bro!
Great video, I wanted to see more. It looked like a fun trip. There's a lot more you can do in Chicago. If you go again, try the deep dish.
I'll definitely have to try that the next time im in the city!
Great video. New subscriber. I have been living in my Toyota Prius for 8 years and always looking for new faces to follow
Thanks for the sub! Wow 8 years is a long time that's impressive. Have you felt crammed in the prius?

Very impressive, I have a 2024 RAV4 and my apt lease is up in Nov. I am trying to get up the courage to
go full time suv living.
That bike looks like it was a life saver! I would love to visit that zoo.
Yeah it was really fast!

Man that would have been a lifesaver if that internet was up to speed. Talk about escaping the elements

Appreciate the sub! I'm currently researching and planning a 100,000 mile road trip that i'll be leaving for in a bout a year.
I do the exact same thing. No floor plan is the best flexible build. And removing the front passenger seat you can live in any car!
Exactly! Simple is best

Yeah i wanted less stress this time around. Thanks for watching!
You’re my new fave Austin ! ❤
Thanks!
I thought for sure you'd be in a suburb while claiming Chicago
Not quite 😂
I've heard about alarms in your vehicle. Never thought of one?
What kind of alarms?

@dsimplysparky57 thats a good idea
South side of Chicago are you insane? Why didn’t you go up north or one of the surrounding cities 😣
I learned my lesson😭
That's what I was thinking! That's crazy!!!

Hi Do you interested in adding some LED upgrade to your rig? We hope to do some sponsorship with you!
Why didn't you leave? Thats crazy stayen there after they tried to open your door. Lol
I was just caught by surprise lol
@RavRoving I bet. I'd be freaking out too. 😂
Aloha
Very little of living in the vehicle.
