My man….. I know it can be frustrating brother….. however, my dad would say to me “son we played the game and the gobbler won. Just like in life… we work hard in life and sometimes we make mistakes. You hunt long enough it will happen and it will not be the last time.” The blessing is that we learn and get humbled from those mistakes in the process. I think good sportsmanship plays a role in hunting as well…. Also, we place to much of our being perfect and do not allow ourselves to give ourselves grace in being able to laugh at ourselves in our mistakes and mishaps. You are living your dream and enjoying each and every moment in GOD’S creation. I have so enjoyed watching your journey over the years and extremely proud of you. Smile brother laugh and go wrestle another one. Godspeed and God bless you and family abundantly.😉✝️👊🏻

Dude that’s the worst. When you work hard and it comes down to that moment, and doesn’t go your way. Sucks buddy. Then u kinda feel bad cuz you’re throwing a fit and pissed. But u don’t really feel bad people just make u feel like u should..but you’re actually just pissed 😂

I wasn't expecting that swing n miss but they happen! That departing gobble would make me mad enough to go back after him again though.

No matter how much success we have, it's the misses that keep it up at night.

I have had Gobblers coming in careful and gobbling then give those loud clucks. I always figured it wanted that hen to come out where it could see it. He had come as far as he was going without more than some long distance promises. Likely an old turkey that has seen a thing or three or watched his buddy get his head took apart.

It happens man. I know you look but, my buddy shot one last year that flew like he wasn't hit. We found him 150 yards away in a thicket.

I appreciate the raw emotion Dave, you could have very easily deleted this video and nobody would have known about it, but this is why I started watching your videos back when you did pest control!

We've all been there and understand the frustration you are feeling. I hunt 99.9% public land and it is an emotion people don't understand unless they put in the effort. I had to watch a couple of monsters Osceola's walk away this year with a 7 year old that still brings me nightmares. Love watching your videos and keep them coming. Good luck to all the turkey hunters that do it right.

And it's one thing to be boogered up by a dumb move you made yourself or by someone else who is "doing it right" but just happened to be beat you to a spot, but it's an entirely different feeling to be boogered up by a knucklehead that has no patience or has no clue what he's doing.

Other than someone I know dying, I can’t think of anything that leaves more of an empty space in my gut than missing a turkey. I have missed at least one every year for the past 4 years. So far, I am 2 for 2 this year. My goal is to not miss in 2024. I hope to have a couple of more opportunities this season, and I hope I can meet my goal.

You should be mad. I would have been too. The only thing I don’t love is how close you were to the private line. As a guy who works his balls off for his farm that also borders public. I’ve pretty much learned to hate everyone.

I’ve turkey hunted the past 25 years and never missed a bird until last season…..missed at 15 yards and still don’t know how I missed. Guess the Lord gave him a pardon that morning. I know that feeling and I was not happy too. 😂😂

cant beat a max load and gauge -i know heavy and all but for the true tom desparados its the only thing that can help avoiding the pain or less of it -wider and still dense pattern is the only step that helps ,its always gonna happen to the ones that truly wanted so bad and especially on the ones you want even more !!
years ago after 10 years in and lots of toms down i thought i was never gonna miss one than the shit hit the fan on the coming yesrs and still hasnt stopped after 15 years and this all after i truly started to get spiritual about it and even more succesfull and all-all in ny on public in uppet hudson valley!!!

You better be glad you missed. He was behind that posted sighn. You're very good at what you do . But why do you call so much. I always found on heavy hunted Public Land calling less is best.
