Like One Direction, Cher, etc. They may not have gotten the votes to win, but someone somewhere saw them and signed them to label deals and these people had the ambition to get themselves back out there and become something other than "that person who was on __________." The people who win think they've got in the bag, but after the season ends, their fame is usually short lived. They end up becoming "that one person who won that one show that one time" and they get buried underneath the true stars that they ended up beating.
