This is the high point of literary culture on UA-cam. Brilliant!
For all who voted for Brexit, how'd that turn out?
This story has the definite whiff of Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban - great stuff!
Always liked his early short stories best: _Grey Area_ / _Cock and Bull_ and _The quantity theory of Insanity_
43:00 mins in, pretty sure he's talking about Martin Amis here.
danku
Where can I get a jacket like that? What do you call that?
Nehru jacket
Charity shop.
As of today Will Self needs to apologize to over 17 million British people who he says are racist because they voted for Brexit. This excuse for a man typifies what is wrong in this country.
That's not what he said. He said every racist in the UK likely voted for Brexit...not that everyone who voted for Brexit was a racist. No need to apologize whatsoever.
Once more, with feeling. Will Self did not say that every person, who voted for Brexit, was a racist. He said that every racist in this country, pretty much, probably voted for Brexit, and that this was a real problem for Brexiteers. He also said that he did not Know this, but that he Suspected it. So let's be quite clear about that, shall we. Did you get it, now?
@@christopherbrookfield4785 I largely suspect people who say Diane Abbott is racist are undertaking a spectacular feat of projection. I say suspect...
@@christopherbrookfield4785 I didn't vote in the referendum, but it's not reasonable to claim that someone has a legitimate view, but someone else who is a bad person agrees with you, therefore your view is tarnished. This is just juvenile smear tactics. If I had voted for Brexit it would be entirely due to my own conviction; what other people do or did has no reflection on this whatsoever.
This has also long since proven to be a trivial issue considering what has occurred since, not least that the country was voluntarily economically destroyed for two years, in an absolutely disastrous lockdown policy, supported by all parties and much of the general public, that has achieved absolutely nothing. Where was the kicking, screaming and toy-throwing then? Where is it now, as we live with the consequences of that disastrous idea? I haven't encountered any, people, with some honourable exceptions, have largely accepted it.
He is right.
Will Self is an ignorant bigot. His socialist fascist opinions are exactly what would make Hitler proud
Self reckons every racist in the country voted for Brexit. I'm equally sure he appreciates that the vast majority of snowflakes, homosexuals and trans-gender voted to remain. No offence to you I'm sure, Will.
Keep 'em coming, comedy boy.
Bigots are so easily triggered considering how much time they spend complaining about people being triggered
