At the time Smackdown was the show to go to for straight up wrestling. Punk having an old school mentality as far as the business goes obviously preferred that to the Sports Entertainment that was predominantly present on Raw. Not to mention, Punk was a part of the Smackdown roster at this time so of course he'd say Smackdown for that reason alone LOL.
