shout out to Curry for the call back Michael Jordan move in the corner against the Knicks..... The Garden... where the home team gets used and abused by Superstar players for the last 80 yrs.... its a *TRADITION*
😂 The classic example of a "Business Decision" 3:00 CP3 crossed that man into the shadow realm, his teammate looked at CP3 started to go after him then turnaround like nah. In his head I can hear the conversation he was having with himself. "I'm not going over there to get that work. Let me stay comfortable attached the James Harden."
A lot of these don't qualify as "ankle breakers." A player trying to draw a charge that doesn't get whistled, has not had their "ankles broken," just because they end up on the floor and/or leave their man wide open to shoot because of it.
yes, and this should be titled "of the 2010s'" ..not 'in history"....no Isiah, no Iverson or Hardaway ...come on now ! These "ankle breakers" are often offensive fouls...pushing with the forearm
I'm used to see this kind of video in soccer, mma, professor live etc. But this is one of the most violent things i've ever seen after 2-3 of those I feel so angry can't imagine if I was one of those defenders...🤬👊
To me, an ankle breaker is when you make someone look foolish while they are under their own power to control their feet. So slipping on a wet spot they didn't notice, bumping them with your body, or someone stepping on their foot doesn't count, like at 3:278:28 and 9:35
2:29 that 6 inch push/punch by Durant was BEAUTIFUL! Didn't extend outside of his cylinder (hand doesnt even go past his knees)! Basketball was my first love as a kid & I was pretty good but played like a super-athletic guy, who was taught by Naismith shooting in peach baskets & dribbling by the early 1900's "old white guy" rules! Eventually 8th/9th grade I took up tackle football & dropped basketball when Jordan retired after the second 3-peat. If I had just read the rule book about the players' cylinder & used my off hand/shoulder/hip/elbow to push off and get an advantage that way (like a Wide Receiver), I might've done both at an elite level! (my basketball defense is trash tho once I fell in love with the physicality of football. I'm a 6'1" press corner...who LOVED beating up WR's.... so I foul worse than Patrick Beverley!)
I love basketball, but I hate it at the same time, many of these plays of "ankle breaks" as you call them are caused by the attacking player pushing the defender, and that is seems to be relavite in the eyes of the referees, there are rare plays that the attacking player can actually move the defender so that he falls to the ground without touching him, and I'm not talking about normal physical contact. Moments when the attacking player pushes the defender using the shoulder/arm/hand: 1:07 1:23 2:29 (this one is the most explicit) 3:49 4:34 5:06 I could go on but I got bored and didn't even watch the video until the end.
@@EzCards0742 the game was different. It wasn’t a guard’s game. Disrespect wasn’t getting crossed over by someone carrying or traveling and them looking at you. It’s teams refusing to let you in the lane without putting you on the floor. Few were flagrant foul calls, but would get someone ejected today. They were enemies on the court, not cheering for the other team when they made shots. Go back and watch the eastern conference in the 90s. Zero respect on the floor
@@jwalls13 well in todays game the word disrespect has evolved too. imagine training your whole life for the NBA just to be remembered as the guy that James Harden crossed so hard that you fall to the ground, nobody remembers him as Wesley Johnson but "the guy James Harden dropped" for the rest of his life.
