How about a scenario where we have billed the customer for around 100 different products and they are returning only 1 product? How to take in only that single product to our warehouse and create a credit note based on what was returned?
If you like Shopify so much you are more than welcome to use Shopify it is a great eCommerce platform. The video is here to show you how the system worked (in Odoo 15). Odoo is a much more complete system. Just like every system there are pros and cons. If I have spare time I will make a new video in Odoo 16 which is more complete.
I can’t believe that your saying that typically Refunds occur outside of Odoo. Unlike Shopify where it’s connected to all the payment systems. Why wouldn’t refunds also be the same in Odoo? Expecting accounting to go to these external systems to make a simple refund, is absurd. Many of our customers pick up materials and cancel before pickup or shipment. It would be standard to be able to refund them and just cancel the order. No other actions needed after that. Odoo complicates this from what I can tell. Hoping future versions of Odoo will be better when it comes to built in Refund capability.

What about refunds for a customer that is just canceling their order and never received material? How do you issue simple refunds or partial refunds?

In Odoo 16 refunds are available for most payment providers right through the system.
@@KZAKI or is there documentation on how this looks or works? Refunds should be possible on the Sales Order.
@@98606 Refunds are not possible on a sale order. They happen on the actual payment from the payment model.
