You have to be pretty adept at hiding your true intentions/emotions to be a good interrogator. Certain people are not built for it. That's how you end up with some of the true crime videos you'll occasionally see with awful interrogators potentially messing up cases.
Maybe they don’t all pretend. True compassion for another human doesn’t mean you condone their behavior or not see they hurt or killed another. It’s not judging them but helping them to confess to find out what happened so the case can be resolved, those involved can try to get closure and if they are a danger to society they are put away. Everyone cries differently. He realizes the gig is up and he’s now busted and going to prison for the rest of his life. It’s extremely likely he is actually crying. And it’s possible to go into crazed state when acting out on something violent that he’s never done before that it can feel like a “black out” or losing control to the point where he is just on autopilot. It’s possible to feel like that without having a “history” of black outs. Either way this dude is a sick fuck and deserves to be buried under the prison but I’m tired of always reading the same comments claiming they know the psychology of what this guy is thinking when it’s very complex.
