    one of the best vids ever 4sure on inner. great job! so do all toyotas have that annoying washer behind inner ball joint to remove and do you even hav to, it seems like its not connected to the inner BJ rod, so the inner should come off regardless, right? thanks

    So 28mm is about 1-1/8 inches. I have a kit from Harbor Freight that was loaned to me by a friend and the closest one in the kit was 1-3/16. The 1-3/16th probably would have been a tad tighter fit than the 33.6mm that you used. Thank you very much though for taking the time to show us the width of the adapter . So 33.6mm is about 1-5/16 inches. I will be doing this on a 2006 Lexus rx330 and will report back the size I used. Cheers

    Just watched this vid. Absolutely terrific. Thank you for taking the time to post it.
    I do have a question: @ the 1:53 mark, I noticed your control arm bushings look like mine ('06 Avalon). Is that normal wear or are you experiencing anything funny with your c/a bushings?
    Again, thank you for posting! God bless bro!

      I replaced the control arms ua-cam.com/video/Ai-A_ayxcrc/v-deo.html and the bushings looked the same. So if don’t notice a problem, don’t worry about it.

    So you have to break the metal clamp on the other end of the boot with a small screwdriver

    Great info, thanks!! Quick question, did you find the source of the leak from where you pulled the old boot off?

    • @fixinit
      @fixinit 2 роки тому

      Not really. I think it’s coming from the rack and pinion. Seems to be steering fine so I’ll worry about it when the seals completely blow out. 😎

    Is a tie strap strong enough to hold it on good and last?

    😮looks like your outer tie rod is inserted into the hub upside down, you can see the curved shape of the tie rod is close to the CV boot when on full right lock. Has no one else spotted this?

      That’s the way it is. Watch other videos. They all have the bend towards the cv axle. Thanks for watching!😎

    Great video, thx. I uninstalled original inner tie rods and there was no washer on either side. Anybody know why the original assembly would not include the washer? Makes me think its unnecessary. Yes, I’m 100% sure they are originals- original owner & I never touched the inners or had work done on them before.

      Glad I’m not the only one. My 04 Corolla didn’t have any either which I thought was strange. I’m not the original owner but I thought it was odd that there wasn’t a washer when so many inner tie rod kids come with washers. My kit didn’t have one so I went out and bought 2 more inner tie rods because they had the washer because you can’t find the damn washer anywhere. Not really sure if it is necessary to have it but I played the game of safer rather than sorry.

      Yes if you can get a wrench in there.

  • @norakat

    It makes no sense to count the turns when removing the outer tie rod unless you have the same exact part. If you have a different replacement- mark where the outer tie rod was and put the new part side by side and put a mark at the same distance.

  • @stevenbuell5387
    @stevenbuell5387 Рік тому

    He screwed up you should always mark you tie rods or count how many times you turn it for the outer tie rods .
