This is good advise, it's not unhealthy, it's like a stretch.
Of course you have to know what are you doing, it's not for absolute beginner or some diy dancer. If it hurts don't do it.
Exactly! And also you have to be patient when doing this, if you aren’t and just push your knee to the floor you may really hurt yourself.
also, while this makes your feet flexible, you have to strengthen them too to actually hold the position and avoid injury.
dropping knowledge while casually having perfect legs and feet....thank u teacher jasmine
Wow you have such beautiful lines do you dance in a company you are amazing ❤
This is a great stretch!!! But please remember to stretch your achilles afterwards! You can really hurt yourself if you don't!
@@aaliyahmichael8853do a calf stretch but bend your back leg. :D
I did this!!! And helped a lot. Did it for almost a year when i was 20
I do this too but I do it with a theraband and a small ball to put under my foot. This makes it safer if other dancers would like to do this
What are the odds this showed up on my UA-cam page. I have been looking for a good way to stretch my arch for weeks
BEAUTIFUL ARCHES, YOUNG LADY.
As a dancer i did this and lifted yhe entire couch due to my stubborn toes😂😂
But what if the demons grab my toes!
Hi, I have club foot…. Which basically means when I was born my foot was completely bent backwards. I have had 6 casts and now my foot is slightly sickle. I have been doing ballet ever since I was 3 and I LOVE IT your channel helps me out sooooo much thanks 😊
I don't know how to say it in english but like you have those loops out of rubber that are used to strengthen your thighs. And mostly just for thigh exercises. I usually take the loop, place it over my knuckles hold it on the other side of the loop and straighten your leg. Then you should feel a good stretch
Edit: and it is also not that expensive. I bought really good ones that have different levels of strength for like 5 bucks
What flats do you use? They look so flattering!
I LOVED DOING THAT
My foot is this flexible an I can keep my leg straight and invert it, thanks hypermobile EDS
Straight ankle lock immunity
Thank you for that I just started ballet
Me too , when I was younger I used to put my feet like this under something. It helps me a lot.
I'm gonna sit and do that now 😅
I use the same foot stretcher I used at 9 lol
@JasmineMcDonald Question- once your feet got really flexible, did it affect your pointe shoes at all? For instance:
Do they die faster?
Do you have trouble finding shoes that support your arch?
Do your feet sometimes feel like they can't hold you up in the shoe because of how flexible they are?
It works!
Oh my god I did this too lmao 🤣 😅 I thought I was weird for this glad other do it too
Found this while literally stretching in front of my couch and sadly its too high off the ground 😅
I did this ever since I was 5 lol
I get foot cramps from doing that idk why😭😊
Thank you...
I DO THAT TOO 😂😂
But more flexible feet isn't good? From what I remember Josephine saying, it's harder to fit more flexible dancers
Flexible feet is good. Problem is when feet is so strong that pointe shoes don't last long. But that's not a problem for professionals.
My professor recomended us to put our feet under the couch at home, it's like a stretching. Of course, exercise is what makes your feet strong and flexible, but this is good addition.
We had similar stretching exercises in class, holding each others feet, pushing it down more and more, and stading on each others feet
I went to 4 places and none have short furniture like this 😢
is it possible to make the joints lower? like making more or less the fingers touching the ground
Do you have any advice how too save your feet from corns dancing?
i have a question, if someone knows how to help me..
for example if i stretch my left foot, i'll have a better arch and form when my knee and ankle and big toe are NOT aligned. there's a better/bigger "dent" if my (left) foot is like, pointing slightly to the right. i know it's not right but when i try to do relevés, my body weight is on my little toes and not under my big toe. I don't know what to do because i don't know how it's supposed to be. i can "force" myself to put my weight on the big toes of my feet but it's really hard, I can't stand if i'm not grabbing something to help me maintain the position + there is no arch at all, it looks like i'm barely pointed when i'm doing my maximum. I don't know if i should keep training on the big toes (it feels like it's the right position but it also feels like there's a natural defect to my ankles 😭 because of how much i suck).
i've done ballet when i was little (6yo to 11yo) but never was really good and i feel like my feet naturally going behing is something i unconsciously did because it's easier. maybe. i don't know. sending you a video would be the best, i tried to search you on ig to send you a dm but i couldn't find you. it's my main issue to keep on practicing ballet movements :')
8 hrs later: i just learned it's called "sickling"! i'm so happy i'm not the only one now i know what to type on yt to practice
My couch is higher than my foot 😢
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Can you talk more about your diet please?
👍🏿
Heyyum
Um i get my little brother to hold my feet lol he only is 65 pounds and he is 11 i was i was skinny like him😭😭😭
Humm..
So beautiful 😍
:)
Be careful because this can lead to stress fractures!!!! Go too many horror stories from this.
@@User-o3m2m strength and gentle stretches. Massages are also a good way to go but the point will develop with strength too. It doesn’t need to be instantaneous. Also, I am not saying that this stretch is bad, I am just saying that overstretching and overdoing this is bad.
I did this and my inflexible foot lifted up the couch 😂😭
Whaa
SAME 😭😭😭
Lmaooo same
LOL THATS SO FUNNY totally can’t relate….(totally 😅)
Both my feet lift up the couch 😭
