Nusrat saab's music transcended all religions, castes, countries and barriers and his legacy will remain immortal forever. His Sufi music always spread the message of love across all communities. The only tragedy is he left all of us too soon and it will be very difficult to replace him. He would have definitely contributed to the future of south asian music had he lived even twenty years more apart from his enormous contributions already. His voice used to touch the soul !

@@javedsultan4830 yes but he was born a year after partition or a few months after the creation of Pakistan otherwise he would have been born in Jalandhar. My family is also pathans and we are from Jallandhar but now live in Lahore. Music has no boundaries Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahb was well respected in India as well :)

Let's first congratulate the elegant interviewer who is herself quite knowledgeable about music even as she gracefully poses pertinent questions to the great maestro NFAK, an institution unto himself. A lesson for all aspiring interviewers.I'm impressed by the straightforwardness, humility and erudition with which NKAK answers all the questions. This is a lesson for all the aspiring singers of the world, especially, India and Pakistan. The Pakistani goverment should encourage learning of music in schools and colleges. There's a lot India and Pakistan can learn between themselves through cultural exchanges. Let's set up an institution on either side of India-Pakistan border to extend the legacy of NFAK.

I am from India. My late grandfather (Uncle of my mother) used to say that Urdu was a beautiful language. And he was upset that we were going to loose the language gradually. Even he disappointed with Muslims because Muslims also forgetting the importance of Urdu language.

Probably the only star who is loved all across the globe with no haters at all. Hum hindustani khan sahab ke sabse bade mureed hein, allah tala unki rooh ko salamati bakshe. Is interview ko sambhal ke rkhne wale or upload krne wale ka teh-ae-dil se shukriya.
