Fantastic. I got a 1970 Honda Z50A Mini Trail back in 1998. I did a restoration on it, just enough to get it running and look clean. I spent over $800 in parts and probably 80 - 100 hours of work on it. I stripped it down to the frame, cleaned everything, rebuilt the engine and anything else it needed. The only things I didn't do was paint it and replace the forks. I rode it for 20 years usually starting on the first or second kick. Last year it wouldn't start, and I found the carb and gas tank had gummed up and that was the end of that. I have a new gas tank, a new Honda Seat ($300.00) and all the parts I need to get it running again. When I get time, I will tear it all apart and paint it and restore it one last time. I love doing that kind of work since I have worked on bikes my whole life. I restored a friends 1973 Honda CB350 back in the mid 90's. That was a challenge. We had to buy another bike just like it to get engine parts and other original items off of it. After it was done the owner who had bought it new in 1973 was so excited to be able to ride it again after all those years. I would like to see the video on the Honda 360. Keep the videos coming and ride safe.

Thanks for bringing back some memories Cruiseman. I grew up in the 70's and my siblings and I had a Z-50, CT-70 and others as we grew up! Nice to see this video on the 70😃

U mean the mini bike obsession until the mid 80s. I had an 74 Honda ST90, my brother 79 Yamaha 100. This was back in 1981 to 85, 85 was when the Honda Scooter line came in. Those were the good ole days my friend. Thx for the reminiscing. Excellent video.

WOW!… My story is almost just the same!… I was 13 in NH and bought a brand new 1970 CT-70 in Blue from my local Honda shop for $399! Seemed like all the money in the world to me at the time but I have more memories than you can count riding that bike all over the county on trails and class 6 roads. Today, like you, I ride a 2018 Goldwing and live right up the road from you in Corinth! Thanks for the ride down memory lane!!!

Good to know the original price. I have a blue 1970 ct70 I traded for some landscaping work. Carb needs some work but it sure looks cool in front of my fireplace. I’m also down the road at Hebron and Josey by the hospital. I even saw cruiseman at Awake today. Wind therapy is the best!

Enjoyed your video. Brings back great memories of my first bike in ‘71 a red Trail 70. My brother chose a green Trail 70. If I remember right mine was automatic with no clutch. We rode all around North Houston. Never would i have imagined all these years later i would have my 5th bike anther red honda automatic -‘21 Goldwing Tour DCT Airbag. Thanks for the memories!

The CT-70 was my first bike. I've owned dozens of motorcycles since and now own a DCT Goldwing but the 70 was always my favorite. Got it for Christmas and put over 100 miles on it that day riding in my Dad's yard which was only and acre. I can only imagine how many times I went round and round the yard that day...

Wow the first 2 minutes of this video made me cry, thats the excitement I had leading up to my first bike, a 1980 CT-70 at 12 years old. :) I was probably way ready for a XR-75 or YZ-80 but I was happy my parents, after I got on the honor roll at school, made money mowing laws, and lost my smart Alec attitude with my mom, actually broke down and got me a bike, any bike! Christmas 1980. Your CT-70 - Beautiful restoration!

Chris, loved the restoration story. My dad loved motorcycles, and gifted me with a QA50 in 1970 when I was six, followed by a Z50 Mini-Trail in 1972, then a CB125 in 1976 when I was 12. I always liked the CT70.
Please set aside the 360. You are Cruise Man, a GoldWinger. We would like to see you restore a ‘75-‘77 GoldWing. You will really enjoy riding the final product.

That was amazing. It also brought back some memories. My first 2 wheeled motorized bike was a Montgomery Wards mini bike. It came with no rear shocks. But I did buy shocks for it after the first year of riding it. I don't remember what happened to that bike. But I know that I had a blast on it.

Chris, I knew this was going to be a great video when you started to talk about that Trail 70, that is one slick little dude there. My first bike was a 1970 Yamaha 200 street bike twin. My mom put up a good fight but my dad let me get one because my older brother had several Cushman Eagles. I’d like to see a video on that 75 Honda. I took a 74 Honda CB 550 four to college in 1975, it was a beautiful orange color similar to that color on the 02 Wings. Too this day I’ve always thought that 550 was the prettiest bike I’ve ever owned and I’ve had a bunch since then. Enjoyed that video immensely, you stirred up some old pleasant memories, thanks.

The CT70 was my first bike (73). I rode that bike everywhere. When I turned 15 1/2 I was at DMV that morning to get my motorcycle license. Mine was the red version. I remember the front shocks had little to no travel, and it only went 40mph (downhill) but it was fun.

The 70s were the best of times. I started with a lawnmower engine minibike back in 72 and worked my way up from there to a 2010 Honda Fury and a 2012 Honda Goldwing. Not selling either of those bikes.
    Please do another restoration video.

Looks great, Chris! I used to get Honda Trail 90’s and 110’s and fix them up and sell them as a hobby. Didn’t make any money but had fun. I kept a 1982 Trail 110 that I still ride around the farm. Let’s see your other project.

My first bike was a trail 70 my dad bought me when I was 12. That was 1972. I wish I had it now along with all the now classic muscle cars I owned through those later years that I couldn’t afford now.

Nicely done Cruiseman! My love for riding also started on a Trail 70 - it was my cousin's bike (no way my family would let me have one). Later, in my teen years, I got lots of time riding friends' mini-bikes and dirt bikes, and then started on street bikes when I was 19. I've ridden ever since, except for a few decades raising children (like many). Thanks for sharing your walk down memory lane with us.

Excellent restoration! What a beauty! Congratulations! I've been thinking about the minibike that first got me on two wheels. Do you remember the Rupp line of minibikes? My dad bought me a brand new 1968 Rupp XL350 as a surprise that year. (From a hardware store, no less!) Bright metallic blue, it featured a 3.5 hp Tecumseh engine and I thought it was the best thing a kid could have. I rode that thing into the ground!

Chris, it’s a well known fact that adding pinstripes to a bike (or car) always increase the horsepower. They have the same effect as if you had added a turbo! Here in the U.K. the bike is known has a ST70 or Dax. I have been looking for the rare Lady Dax to restore, this model was finished in white and had the ‘flower power’ seat. Loads of spares are still available for these bikes, either genuine Honda or from aftermarket suppliers. Lovely looking bike you have there. Please follow this video with one on the CB360.

I've just gotten my '72 CT70 out of storage, it's been in my family for over 50 years now. My grandad bought it brand new for my dad, my dad gave it to me in the 90s, and now I want to teach the next generation of kids in my family to ride it. Can you provide links of places to get (as close to) genuine parts as possible and any of the places you mentioned that you'd found that did some of the restorations you couldn't do? Thanks!
