to all those new at forraging for nettles: if you do get stung by them, just look in the area around the nettle, almost always you will find one or more of the following helpfull plants growing near the stinging nettles; dead nettle (a cousin of stinging nettle with either white, yellow or purple flowers), ground ivy (hondsdraf in dutch, with leaves that look like dog's pawprints), brought leaf plantain or narrow leaf plantain, and dandelion, all 4 of these can help take the irritated feeling out of a nettle sting.
from the dandelion you use the milky substance from the veins in the leaves and from the flower stem, just put it on the spot that got stung sort of like a lotion.
the other 3 you use by bruising a couple of there leaves and rubbing them on the stung spot.
any of these 4 should help take the sting out of being stung, though they might stain your skin a little for a few days, but if you ask me getting rid of the irritated feeling is worth a few minor stains
Nettles seem to grow easily in the shade.
If you don't put it in hot water and pound it to crush it, it'll probably get a hands are swollen.
I was told that it was a painful leaf.
I wish I could turn it into a powder, whole stalk.
Athos, are you homeless, in the wilderness, how do you post on your social media platforms without internet?
and you in nature how do you go about posting comments?
Salut l'ami Athos il faut renforcé avec des traversées
I'm curious why you collect your rainwater in that little pool instead of using a rain barrel. People have been using them for centuries. You wouldn't need to filter the water that way, and I'd assume it would be a lot cleaner. It seems to work for you, I'm only curious.
the only source of water is rainwater! drinking water is filtered before!
