A lot of people forget the group Grandmaster Flash was rockstar fresh when it came to their gear. The clothes they wore in the Message was to fit the theme of song. Any other time they were outlandish with the outfits.

The message "TO ME" is lost in this video. I am an old head and lived in NJ back when this song really mirrored the sign of the times. Happy they got a resurgence but I think it would have made a bigger impact if they use a social conscious video like they did back in the day. Very disappointed in the video but they are still one of THE BEST to ever do it.

But above all, Grandmaster's Furious 5 always demonstrated the strength of perseverance.

I was a teenager when this came out and it was like he told my teenage life story. When it first came on I stopped what I was doing and listen. And after it was done I asked “Who was that?” My friend just smile and said “That’s Grand Master and the furious Five”…………FURIOUS…they could added me as the SIXTH. Today, I have no reason to be furious for myself but my furious lies with the fact NOTHING CHANGED for the masses.

The message was an anthem to many in the streets and poor upbringing. Kind of a slap in the face to repackage a classic about poverty but jam as much luxury as possible into a video. Just my perception on it.
