Test : Sachin, Gavaskar, Dravid ODI : Sachin, Kohli, MS Dhoni T20 : Virat, SKY, Rohit sharma I know Dhoni didn't scored that many runs compare to others in ODI. But the amount of impactful innings he has played is insane. The fact that he scored 73 half centuries in odi & most of them are while playing in middle & lower order is unbelievable.
What do you mean MSD didnt score as many runs in ODI. He scored more ODI runs than some of the greats like Lara and Gilchrist with roughly the same number of innings. He was often played down the order to accommodate Yuvi, still managed to score 8k / 9k / 10k runs with similar number of innings as Sachin. MSD is definitely one of the greatest batsman in cricket
The sample size of Jaiswal is not big, but the talent, impact and entertainment is massive. He is going to be the poster of Indian cricket for the next 15 years.
What had Virat done at the age of 22 in test?? This management is not giving him chances in ODIs as Gill & Rohit are afraid of him that he will absolutely smack any bowling lineup and their place in that format also is going to be in danger FYI , Virat robbed his double hundred at the MCG yesterday with the way he was playing.
Only if you’re biased. I think they’ve won the same odi WC between that, at home. Sachin fair enough but Lara, Sir Viv, Ponting, Cook, Hayden, definitely all push Virat out of contention.

Forget tests, ODI or T20 on pure batting abilities alone Sunny Gavaskar will always be considered the greatest batsmen of all time along with Bradman, Viv Richards, Lara and Tendulkar. Facing the brutal WI pace quartet and the likes of Lilee, Thomo on sometimes uncovered pitches or green tops and that too without helmet. Tendulkar- Gavaskar and a distant third Kohli.
I remember one incident told by Kevin Pietersen in some talk show. He said he was struggling to play spin and then he asked for help from Rahul Dravid by sending him an email I think. Dravid replied with long paragraph to describe everything kevin needed to do.
Agree with everything except Dhoni in ODI. Rohit will be a better option than him. Dhoni would be justified if we were talking about captaincy but as a pure batter, he isn’t in the contention.

those who easily judge someone as greatest of all time often fail to see different rules, equipments , bats etc prevailing in different times.. during times of viv richards, bats were quite lean and equipments were not as batsmen friendly as they are today.. hitting a six in those times to fast bowlers was like hitting 4-5 sixes in an over in today’s time.. so comparing anyone from that time to today’s time would be a naive approach.
Dravid , Kohli and then Sachin. Dravid because he played the most crucial knocks. Man of the match in leeds ,2002. 148 in Johannesburg, 180 in kolkata , 233 in Adelaide, then two fifties on a horrible pitch in west Indies, 270 in Pakistan. And many other great knocks under pressure. Sachin was more of a flat pitch Batsman. Most of his centuries in test cricket came on flat pitches like 240 on dead sydney pitch where every batsman scored. Or 194 against pak when Sehwag had smacked 300. Kohli has been way better on difficult pitches than Sachin. Sachin also struggled against McGrath and pollock and other top bowlers
