Something I like using on larger stamps like the Cubano is a dry eraser. I can achieve a more even pressure with it than with my hands or fingertips. And it is user friendly! Still have to hold the stamp in place to avoid accidental shifting, but I works like a charm. I love that bird transfer, too!
I LOVE watching the two of you together! I have 2 grown daughters and recognized the “sisters dance” between you right away! I was hoping we wouldn’t have to wait too long for Episode 2 of the Gallery Wall. I’d better get busy with Episode 1 this week, getting my wood on Wednesday and have all of my other supplies ready. Will only need to get my stamps and transfer ( I know my local supplier has them in stock) then for Episode 2. I’m trying really hard to stay up with these so I can complete my own Gallery Wall ASAP. I have the perfect place in my own home for it!
I am so glad you are continuing with the gallery wall tutorials. I have bought supplies to follow along. Thank you. I am anxiously awaiting the next in the series.
@@IronOrchidDesigns I'll tag you tonight when I post a picture on IG. I also have a video with it on my channel but I'm nervous to have you watch it! :)
Hey ladies hey! This by far is one of the most amazing things you guys have done you keep coming out with new ideas please don't ever stop! The bird picture it's my favorite the other one I like but the bird picture is really Bomb Diggity! I'm going to order the bird stamp and anything else I need honestly a really looks like it's in a frame and has a matting on it! Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial I will be sharing it with as many people as I can looking forward to your next one. May your blessings overtake you xo
Hi...love you two! Just moved and have empty big wall...now I know what to do. Already ordered some stencils and stamps! What kind of wax do you recommend?
I’m loving this series girls! Thanks for all the ideas and the energy you bring to each video! Can you tell me the size of the square you are using in the Cubano piece? I’m going to make this!
You can get all the sizes for each gallery piece from this blog post as well as a plan for how to cut them all from one piece of plywood: ironorchiddesigns.com/diy/how-to-diy-your-own-iod-gallery-wall-from-one-sheet-of-plywood/
The glaze is just a watery mixture of acrylic paint and water. We used a small paint brush to apply it right along the edge of the tape so the art looks like it has a mat around it. Hope that helps!
I’m binging on the Gallery Wall series .. so many new techniques to learn. Your work is so beautiful, and easy to follow. Two Questions: 1.where do you get the sande plywood, have never heard of it. 2. Josie I noticed the bracelet you had on with the dragonfly on a dark band. What type of band is that and how is it attached and what type of closure does it have. I’m making clay mold bracelets and using leather cord. TIA
Hi Sandra! Thank you for watching. So happy you are enjoying the series. You can get Sande Plywood at most home stores. For sure Home Depot if you have one local. Let me check with Jos and see if she can give us some info on the bracelet. I will let you know. Thanks sweetie. 😀💖
You remind me of Shirley McCain. Your mannerisms, expressions on your face! I apologize for not using your name. I am new here. By the way, I plan on doing this. What fun. I did subscribed. Thank you.
Hi Anne! Thank you for reaching out. No, it does not have to be chalk paint though that is one of our favorites. Fusion mineral paint is also a great product that does not contain chalk. You can also check with your stockist to see what they recommend to use for the look you are trying to achieve. 😊
@@IronOrchidDesigns Thanks again! Can I use your designs in a project that I intend to sell? If I make Christmas ornaments from a mold, can I sell them ( as an example? I love everything you make, gorgeous. all of it! :) I understand if they are only for private use, I just want to be sure before I go further, TY!
Hi Lynn, Are you asking for creating the texture on the frame for the Cubano piece or for distressing? For the Cubano frame texture - 100 grit is perfect. But for distressing either piece, you'd want to use fine grit - 220 or above and go lightly to start so you can control how much paint gets pulled away. Hope that helps! Are you making the gallery wall?
@@IronOrchidDesigns no, I was asking about what you meant by "fine grit "...medium grit etc. I've done a lot of wood finishing and I know what I mean, so just wondering what you meant.
I love this channel. You both are excellent teachers. I appreciate you. 🙏
Thank you so much! That truly makes our hearts SO happy to hear🥰🤗♥♥
Stunning! I love the way you incorporate so many different techniques in each piece. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for commenting, Jodie. The Gallery Wall project is really a master class in all things DIY wall decor - from soup to nuts!

A newbie and learning so much. Great products. Thanks.
Love both of these guys.
Thanks so much, Cindy!
See through quilting rulers would really make this so much easier.
David F I think they would get scratched up and painted on

I thought u first said you were using acrylic paint on the stamp but then later I think you said chalk paint?
We used chalk paint on the stamp. :)
Once you lay the stamp down, put a sheet of something like cardstock over it and rub that, to keep it from shifting.
Fine grit????? Like 100 or more fine.....?
