    I think that the tree finger double tap is really awkward. I like android's magnification a lot better.

      Trevor Settles 3-finger double-tap is always done intentionally. I frequently engaged zoom when I didn't mean to when I had a Note 3. It couldn't tell the difference between typing and 1-finger triple-tap.

      I've never had the magnification accidentally turn on, while typing. I do wish there was a quick button I could push to turn it on/off. On the ipad three finger thing makes sense, but it's just too cramped on the iphone. Also, adjusting the zoom level is a lot easier (I think) with Android.

    The customization options in Android are great for techies. My contention is that Apple's "just works" approach is very good for most people, and the built-in VI options are very good and all that is needed is to turn them on. This goes for both the phone/tablets and Mac. My vote goes to Apple. :)

      The cost is what kills Apple for me.

    Great vdieo! Agree with pretty much everything you said. For me, it's iPhone or Samsung's Android phones. For desktop though, Mac OS X > Windows for sure.

    Always been a android person. I use a HTC one m8 and love it. Mostly because of the large screen and front facing speakers.

      Shauna that is a great phone, it's the one my wife uses and she loves it! I was blown away the first time I heard those speakers! I'm so used to cell phones having a speaker on the back that I couldn't believe the sound coming out of that phone!

    APPLE is great in my opinion because they’re not just good for people who are blind or visually impaired it’s good for people who is deaf hard of hearing people who can’t talk people that just have multiple disabilities can use APPLE. And that’s what APPLE is geared to with people with different disabilities. And I do put a lot of blind people and deaf people to get Apple products. This is just my opinion

    FYI Love my Apple iPad so I got an I phone 13 pro max. It is fine BUT in Central America, all over Europe and South America the main chat is WhatsApp. iOS will not read chats aloud. They say it is a WhatsApp problem. Whats app won’t change for those of us who depend on voice over. I will sell my phone and go back to the Motorola. Their select to speak is not perfect but it will read to me.

    I'm legally blind and I just got my first smart phone 3 days ago. I got the Samsung Note 4. What did it for me is that it has a feature called hover zoom that works on ALL screens. I highly recommend for others with vision problems

      Hoy Sinsation That's the phone I use, in fact I made a video about Hover Zoom as well! In that video I recommend the Note 4 as the best smartphone for the visually impaired!

    I dont like when you turn the speech on on Apple it turns the screen off, because I like to use magnification and soeech together.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  7 років тому

      It actually shouldn't do that so it sounds like you may need to check your settings. It sounds like you may be using the three finger triple tap to turn the voice on and off which is also the same gesture to turn off the screen. You must have them set up together in the settings. I would recommend setting voiceover to the triple click of the home button shortcut. It's a much better way to turn on and off voiceover. You can check out my iPad/iPhone playlist for more information!

    I just got an update on my phone and now my hover zoom doesn't work. Have you had this problem?

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  9 років тому

      Hoy Sinsation I don't get updates because I'm using a custom OS. Can you look in your settings and tell me what version of android you're using? Also the build number. If you go into settings, then about phone, android version and build number will be towards the bottom. I'll see if I can figure it out!

    • @HOYSINSATION
      @HOYSINSATION 9 років тому

      The Blind Spot Apparently all I had to do was turn the feature off and back on. It's always the easy solution that gets overlooked. Thanks anyway bro!
