The scientists that Nazi Germany had were the best in the world, and after WW2 many of them went to work for both US and USSR space programs.

"in its present state, of doubtful military value" Hah, okay Britain. This is like that thing kids do when they REALLY want something but don't want anyone else to get it first and say "oh, I don't care, it's not that important to me".
I mean in the state it existed in, it was actually not that great of a weapon. Most missed or blew up on the pad.
