    This is a phenomenal way to incorporate tip ins. I've never considered gluing in the pages as I've only ever attached with washi tape. However, a word of caution. My understanding is that "Mod Podge Paper" is the only acid-free formulation. Any other version is not acid-free and will likely yellow with time. In fact, a PVA bookbinder's glue like Lineco Neutral pH Adhesive would probably be a better option. Lastly, another paper that you can buy loose leaf and in various blank, lined or grid options is Sanzen Tomoe River Paper (52 gsm). Tomoe has the thin, delicate feel of bible paper and won't bulk up your book too quickly. It should be available in A4 and A5 sizes.

      Thank you my friend for sharing that. I’ve used Mod Podge for years to glue in paper and it has never discolored. They even have it in clear. Also as I suggested a very thin application is all you need. I have lots of notebooks and paper in Tomoe River paper. One of my all time favorite. However, the ink on that paper takes too long to dry and the ink could transfer on to your Bible. Stalogy is my favorite because it’s thin and has a nice coating on it. Again Thank you for sharing. 😊💕

      @@TheRetroBookshelf You're welcome and thank you for mentioning the drying time of the Tomoe River paper! As much as I love that paper that is definitely a downside. And thank you again for sharing your process in this video because I will definitely be using the glue in method for some of my pages 🥰; so creative!

    Hi. I'm a new subscriber and also new to the Bible. This has been very helpful. You're so creative. I hope I can be that creative with my Bible. I saw your video on your Inspire Bibles. I was wondering if at some point could you make a video on you whole Inspire collection? I would love to see the rest of them.🌺

    Thank you for sharing! My only concern is maybe spreading the spine too much causing it to weaken. Have you ever experienced this? I have a ton of stalogy notebooks and tomoe river paper notebooks that I would love to use. Just a little afraid of weaken the spine of the Bible. Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!

      You’ve got the best quality paper. Tomoe River Paper and Stalogy. Love them both. I would use the Stalogy paper. The Tomoe River Paper is great as well but the ink takes time to dry and you don’t want it to stain your Bible. With Stalogy the paper is so thin but great Japanese paper it shouldn’t bulk your Bible like others. 😊

    I've always wondered how I could add pages to my Bible! Thanks so much for showing us how to do it. I've never seen a Bible with a leather cover like yours. Where did you get it?

    Ive been interleaving my Bible with leftover notebook pages for months. It does thicken it and I’ve had to secure part of the spine with clear shipping tape

    • @TheRetroBookshelf
      @TheRetroBookshelf  13 днів тому +1

      I’ve seen that happen. They have people who can rebind it. That’s why I use Stalogy paper because it’s thin, but in any event your Bible must look so well loved, beautiful and well used. 😊🙏🏼

    Since I have more than one Bible to add pages to, is there any reason to not get the 365 yearly Staolgy A5? Half year is 12.95, full year 17.00. Im using Tracing paper at the moment and it is thinner but I can't write on both sides. Thanks

    • @TheRetroBookshelf
      @TheRetroBookshelf  15 днів тому +3

      If you’re going to use it for multiple bibles. Yes probably the full year would be better suited. I have the full year as well but I use that as an actual journal. I don’t even put the 1/2 year in one bible alone. I spread those pages through other bibles, but I have used them before for just one Bible and worked just fine. 😊
