Cheers mate! I'm just doing it for fun. I love riding, I love bike tech and I really enjoy making video😂 Just keeps me out of trouble😂😂I do have a couple of cool vids on the way though 😉
As someone that owns a Rocket 3 and Rocket 3 MAX, this is perfect for me. My Gen 3 Rocket is an absolute DH ripper, but I converted it to an ebike, so trails with hike a bikes are out. Hence my more recent purchase; the Rocket Max and also my first 29er. Laguna Beach is home to world class steeps and technical twisty trails which the Rocket eats up. Because I loved the way geometry feels on my 27.5, I felt comfortable going to a 29er. There’s definitely a difference. The 29er climbs up the most technical trails with ease, but definitely loses the playful, almost out of control agility I get riding the 27.5 on the down. Stoked to check out the new option and a big shout out to Cy for coming through on his word that I wouldn’t be buying a bike only to have a newer frame come out a few months later. PS: I’m curious. Has anyone tried a 170 air shaft on the front vs an angle set?
Yeah, totally agree! The Cotic guys are doing a great job and their bikes are fantastic. As for the airshaft VS angle set, this would actually give the reverse effect of what Cotic were looking for. Adding a smaller rear wheel actually drops the BB and makes the HA and SA slacker, the angle set is installed on the frame to actually steepen those angles back up again (as most people buy angle sets to make their bikes slacker, Cotic is effectively installing it the opposite way around) this helps to push the geo numbers back to almost the same as a full 29er. Installing the longer airshaft would actually make the bike slacker still, but it would raise the BB. I suppose it depends how slack you want to go 👍👍
Yup, I love that Cotic goes that extra mile in terms of geo and options. How many other brands list their geo with different fork lengths? Thanks for the sub mate 👍👍
I had a latest Gen RocketMax 29 and on the right trail it was a monster but for most of the time it was a right Pig to turn and quick direction changes so I reckon this could be pretty good .
Possibly, but as Cotic is actually promoting this I feel confident that they've fully tested it. I bet you could do the same to another frame, but then run into issues and find your warranty is void....
Good work Andi.
Hope this new venture is a success.
I'll keep an eye out for in the hills.

Great to see Cotic offering alternatives and really at no risk to the user. As you say easy to convert back. Great video.... Subbed!

Awesome! Wondering if this would work on other brands 29ers, angle-set & a 27.5 rear wheel 🤔
