- Опубліковано 27 чер 2024
- Tony Robinson and the team descend on the historic Llancaich manor house to investigate an archaeologist's dream. An ancient moat has been discovered in the next field and no one knows what it once protected. It may have surrounded an early Welsh chapel, a Roman Fort, a fortified cattle enclosure, or even the ancestral home of one of Wales's most important families: the Pritchards.
Series 18, Episode 9.
Time Team is a British TV series following specialists who dig deep to uncover as much as they can about Britain's archaeology and history.

I'm so glad our digger-lady Raksha managed to survive her own cremation.
RIP Mick Aston what a legend.
Thank goodness for reruns....makes me feel like he's still around.
7:14 i need "PHIIIIL?! GOT ANYTHING YET?" "Not a sausage Tony!" as a ringtone please
Best answer ever LOL
For those confused by the title and the description, this episode appears to be "Saxon Death, Saxon Gold" - episode 2 of season 18.
I always go by Tony’s hair and his perceived age. 😂
I love when Phil starts showing a feature in the dirt, which I don't even see. He's gesturing and I just see dirt.😄 This show just fascinates me. So glad to watch during COVID19 quarantine.
I believe that nothing is there. It manifests into existence because Phil tells it to appear.
If you put the viewing device away from you, say a meter and have it on fullscreen, the features are more visible.
7:14
“Phil have you got anything yet?”
“Not a sausage Tony!” 😂
Ah, what a pleasure to have Time Team episodes to watch in quarantine times 🤩
Evidence that civilisation hasn't ended...
Time Team is getting me through as well! :)
Wait, new episodes???
Plamena even if I’ve already watched them before. It never gets old!
@@psleep4255 yes indeed. Never gets old. I have also watched all the episodes and some seasons many many times 😁
Just came here to say that Hellen is absolutely adorable. And Phil is everyone's favorite.
Phil in his jean shorts and cowboy hat. Could I ask for more?
@Eleni 1979 dreamy!
"So I can't have Matt with me?" Awe, so sweet.
Personally, I crush on Matt, so I get it.
@@tracyroweauthor I always wanted to catch a glimpse of Katie Hirst!
I miss this show, Helen is such a Gem....and the rest...I miss them
I wonder how she has defyed the aging process. I'm a bit envious.
When I saw Mick there my little heart skipped a beat, gosh I've missed him as I'm sure many do. What a wonderful recommendation youtube has served, it's been far too long since I enjoyed an episode of Time Team.
almost stopped breathing when they showed the brooch at the end. Just humbling.
That shot at 47:03 broke my heart. I love this crew and their show and am so glad it aired as long as it did.
Yes, good old Mick. It was SO much better than the nonsense they've been trying to do recently. It wasn't just the archaeology, it was the team that made the show so great and for so long.
{:o:O:}
Phil works so hard...he deserved that great find! These episodes are so well done...very "high status"!
Please keep uploading it's getting me through quarantine isolation :)
Absolutely, the best programme ever.
I discovered this series during quarantine, and I fell in love with it and for days at a time I’ll sit and binge a few episodes in the background, the archeologists clearly have great group chemistry even when arguing, and other similar documentaries/archeological videos I’ve found just aren’t as enjoyable as Time Team is to me.
Every time I start an episode of time team both of my dogs come running and pile up in my lap. My 65lbs. pit picks her head up every time she hears Phil but my jack Russell prefers Tony
Aww, Their just happy someone else enjoys digging stuff up! Lol
My Pittie Millie is on top of me right now! I need to go get something but...
"You can actually see it." Well, no, Phil, I can't see it at all--but I have absolute faith in Phil's ability to find archaeology. What a great adventure! I've loved this program and the terrific people involved for maybe--20 years. So terrific to have it still!
I dont see it, and then Phil starts showing it….and i SEE it.
The History Channel in the US had American Pickers... no wonder i don't watch tv anymore and come to UA-cam. Thank you, Time Team, for the years of learning (and squabbling)!
How long has Mick Aston had that sweater? It is an archaeological item in itself. This show goes back more than 20 years and He's been wearing that sweater for as long a this shows been on, right?
It started as a joke, the Producers wanted him to brighten up his image. In the early episodes he was rather conservatively dressed. This was his revenge on the suits.
That has to be the best thing I've ever heard Elliott
RiP Mick..
He has that horizontal one, but also a vertical one with the same colors
i think he must have had more than one?
I absolutely love watching time team, its very educational and Phil is riot
Im here in Plymouth Massachusetts, home of the pilgrims and native Americans. Id love if the time team would make an episode here.?????...???MAYBE??
@@77trashman Tony mentioned once that they can't come to America because of certain laws that basically make it impossible... Something about the US laws about ownership of discovery and some other laws. Plus they use completely different methods. Americans sift through each ,, every bit of dirt repeatedly whereas Time Team doesn't. It makes it impossible, too, to perform a 3 day discovery session. I can't remember which video it is where Tony talks about it though....
A compassionate team indeed 👍🏻
Is Phil part Badger ? He’s a digging history finding machine.
I just love Helen. She's lovely, inside and out.
Why do we all overlook Tony as the glue to showing us how these shows progress? I love watching and ofcourse I have my favorites also, but Tony does the most amazing job and gets overlooked way to often for those we look forward to finding amazing things. Bravo Tony!! Thanks so much for always being here.
There are a plethora of Tony docu's on here. His various series in Australia, the walking series in the Uk, the universe series, the unwanted jobs series. All on youtube. :) In my heart since Blackadder and Maid Marion, a legend imho. And in recent years as i've become a Time Team addict, with his vast repetoir -he's fast become my fave presenter.
No I never over look him his enthusiasm and interest helps to make the show for me. He has done a good few other shows which are just as enjoyable. ❤
This guy hasn't changed a bit in what, 20 years? I hope I keep the same good health, energy, stamina and passion when I grow old!
Glad to see Baldric’s descendants are doing well for themselves.
It's all part of their cunning plan!
These people are so passionate about the history, science, and history. That is such an irresistible force!
Aww, we shall miss our dearly "kinda" departed Rashaw. So glad it's just a temporary thing cause she's just one of my favorite archaeologist on the team......oh and I agree with Rashaw...I'd want to take Matt as well!😉
I always end each episode wishing it had been at least twice as long - love watching the process and the camaraderie.
So many times a team team employee had to die for the programme 😂
What a beautiful find too, enviously typed..
And imagine the confusion for future archaeologists hundreds of years from now coming across Raksha's urn, wondering, "How did this get here? Maybe she was a time-traveler because of the mention of 'time team'" lol.
Lol I was thinking the same thing.
Yeah, that got me wondering whether archeologists ever salt their digs before covering back up with identifying markers to say that the site has already been researched down to some level?
@@unclerojelio6320 It must surely be registerd in an database. Surely? I can't believe anything else, there's a lot of material, and a lot of information.
So amazing to be able to glimpse at a moment in time of people from so long ago. I like to think that their lives are not so different from our own. Very beautiful indeed!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant, love these, tis a pity though the later ones dont show their nightly catch up at the pub. Learning their personalities was a big part of the series. great thugh!
Pretty sure this isn’t about a moat or a manor.
"The House of the White Queen" episode is the one about the Manor and the moat - somebody got their videos and titles mixed up
@@nkkromhof This one isn't about a white queen either though, where is that one?
I have become addicted to these Time Team episodes all are fantastic
its amazing to me that they find so much stuff barely under the ground and especially in fields where you would think farming equipment would tear it up and i mean farming fields not plain open grass fields
Love this show, really hope that they keep uploading new full episodes. It's hard to find them on this side of the pond.
As American, we find little archeological history here. I'm fascinated by this show
This actually made me tear up. Raksha's funeral was so emotional. Love this show!
I had the same reaction to it. For some odd reason it was a very emotional scene, hearing the song in her praise and seeing her burying her own urn. Something nobody has ever succeeded doing before.
Enjoyed the episode and was moved by the ceremony after Raksha's cremation. Well done Phil.
I love this show but an added bonus is Helen Geake. Smart, cute as all hell and she's got that lovely friendly smile. Man!!
Shes a keeper!
I discovered Time Team during my Paxlovid Rebound. I am absolutely aticted! Love the original cast. What a wonderful show both entertaining and informative. Keep it coming!
Oops adicted!
Such a gorgeous broach! I’m sure it’s on proud display somewhere now. Rarely has a Time Team show about the Saxons held my attention so.
I'm sad that they didn't tell more about the shield boss!
But the broach sure was a special find.
Mr Schmorgus I’ve seen so many of those. They’re pretty standard, but as they said, a broach of this magnitude is especially rare.
@@joannamallory2823 It's a matter of personal taste ;P I prefer a boss over a broach any day x)
alanrtment porter 😶
Thanks for allowing these episodes to stream to an international audience. Locking them up and hoping for a network to air them is 20th century thinking. In the 21st century great content can be distributed 24/7 from an international audience and AD revenue can be collected 24/7. Why then create brilliant programmes to just sit on a shelf is beyond me. This is educational, would you lock up a book for years and only rent it out from time to time? What silly backwards thinking TV networks have. -Rant over. Cheers, I love time team !
I just love this program What a bunch of characters
Imagine being one of their archeologists only digging for three day. But then again that Tony guy seem like and awesome person to work with hahaha
I was digging up a flower bed in my garden and by looking at the soil discovered a Saxon village, Roman villa, ancient burial ground and a medieval town square. It may have just been mud though.
Anglo-Saxon pottery looks like bad asphalt road built on top of a base of gravel like we would see here in rural Northeast United States.
England my England. Oh how I miss thee. Thy green and rolling land, where history springs to shine from ancient hidden sod.
Sorry, but sometimes get a bit misty eyed for the homeland living here in the New World.
Me too I live in Vancouver now but spent the first 19 years of my life in England I always look forward to going back for a bit of history
@UCI6USc5WIT19Zu1mLuWGbKg I thank you warmly my unknown friend. I shall seek out and enjoy.
I bet that rainbow sweater is old as hell. Lol its gotta have its own fan club by this point.
Not only it's own fan club - that sweater might be old enough to develop sentience...
😂
Jennie I love Phil, too! Haha.
Jennie but I just realized that you were talking about Mick’s rainbow sweater! It’s iconic by now!
There’s one episode (I can’t remember which one) where there is a little girl who wore a sweater just like it.
Helen has a great smile.
I love how Mick always wears his striped knitted sweater.
13:50 that dude's stick figure shirt is awesome
The archeology I want to know about is Mick's stripey jumper. Just from looking I would say it was hand made by an aunt in the sixties!
Is the anyone that knows the true origin of this artifact. All so , was Mick buried in it or, was it bequeathed to a local museum.
Also the only reason he wore it was because Channel 4(funders of time team) wanted him to wear brighter clothing to stand out more, he wore that as a joke...but they liked it!! So he wore it ever since LOL
Love this show.
This really is a crazy site. So much that may have been there. Love this show
Sometimes when I watch this show I feel like I am listening to the story of the Kings New Clothes. They get excited and exclaim “look at this, we have a ditch and trace with their gestures an invisible line ...” and I see nothing. All I see is the fragments, thank goodness for Helen and her small finds. Nevertheless I LOVE this show and all involved. BRING IT BACK PLEASE!
Ah. It's the colour of the dirt. You'll see a slightly different colour where they are pointing. Enlarge your screen and you can see the various shades of brown.
"SPOOKY" love that line
Love Jackie and Helen, brainy ladies have always been my thing.
Fingers slipped. I am addicted!
Raksha thinks Matt is a pet that no one else can deal with....ADORABLE!
Amazing how near the surface the finds seemed to be. I wonder if it would be from farm machinery turning up the soil...
Loving watching these again - cheers :)
Let’s hope micks family, Phil and the gang are finally paid for their work with these videos
Keep them coming!
Oh my Time Team is what I need right now! Please make a lockdown playlist. PLEASE!!!

That brooch was magnificent!
Is it weird that Raksha’s funeral made me cry? 😭
Nope, I am guessing more than me and you shed a tear.
This was an amazing dig. Wow! Great day guys!❤️

NEW TIME TEAM!!! OMG my dreams have come true!!!
Ha ha ha. When she said "going up" I thought of "Are you being served?" Rofl
What's the episode where Phil goes, "Whereever I go my shovel goes Tony."
a new one to me ...considering I thought
i'd seen them all a couple of times each
Nail biting, cool investigation of Anglo Saxon/Roman/Iron Age dig. I enjoyed it a great deal.
Time team: So what's going on? Haven't got a clue...
Indiana Jones and Sala: they're digging in the wrong place
EXCELLENT ! Always !
24:49 I remember this being the episode where I started to wonder if Raksha and Matt had a thing going on, just from the way she said it.
There was an episode once where she was asked to choose something like something to accompany her, to the next world? I don't remember, but she said 'Can I have Matt ' They said no ! I often wonder what they are all doing now.
jilly tamba nhabay That’s this episode. 🤦🏼♂️

Love this show
Thank you 👍
What a find
You guys ROCK!!!
Love to watch time team just always wanted them to be on a site 5 days and not 3. Do hope the farmer was paid equivalent to the price loss from cutting up that much field.
IMO the farmer can endure. Archeology is far more important than such a small loss in economy.

Fantastic documentary, fantastic people, fantastic find 👏🏻❤ Edit: new subscriber 😉

Does a younger Tony remind anyone else of an older Harry Potter?
Awesome and nicely done.
Why is there often so bad weather? Greetings from Germany! :-)
It’s an island!
I wish whoever uploads these videos sorts the wording out, that lot was last weeks wasn’t it??
Hi to the team from Montreal Quebec. Very Interresting program that I jut discovered. Covid-19 isolation is bringing us all a lot closer then splitting us all. You just got a new watcher. Now I have to go, got a few years of programing to catch up! One last thing can you tell to the lady that was cremated ( wont type her name in fear of badly typing it) that she is very beautifull.
If you play on speed 0.75 speed, Tony sounds and looks like he's had a couple to many!!

Yeah, I had to get the Englisc, not so much for context, but because it just sounds so cool. I can read OE 'aloud', and can pick out a few words that don't have modern cognates, but not much more. I really wish I had continued studying it in uni, my interest in it only grew after I had dropped it.
Have you ever met Barry Taylor of the UA-cam’s series Sorted. You both have the same voice which I love.
The title and description are WRONG but the video is great.
