How did this man pack 80 years of compositions into 71 years?? The works of Edgar Froese are unbelievable. I know he must have spent nearly his whole life in the studio.

I could listen to this kind of music 24/7/365 forever. I work in a lab and play a lot of TD, Edgar Froese, Chris Franke, Jean-Michel Jarre, some others on my computer using You Tube. I drive my sidekick, who is in his eary 40's, nuts I think. I am 60 and I don't dig old folks music. I like it wild, heavy electronic, and loud, not because I am hard of hearing, which I am not, but because this old West Virginia hillbilly wants to get into the music and feel it. First time I ever heard TD was in the early eighties on my first ship homeported in La Maddelena, Sardinia, Italy and the album was Underwater Sunlight.

I first heard tangerine dream in 1981 from the movie thief when I lived in Oakland California I'm still in California in 2020 listening to tangerine dream and Edgar froese.
Their music indoors for 50 plus years and I still hear things I haven't heard I love the tangerine dream and the Edgar froese experience it never gets old.

That was a great introduction album/soundtrack too. Yeah, I immediately went out and bought that. My introduction album was Force Majeure.

My parents listened to mainly classical music when I was growing up. As an American kid in the 1970’s, it wasn’t easy, but I was able to learn to appreciate how the great composers told a story thru their music. There is a lot of emotion in it. I realized years ago that Edgar did the same thing with his music, he just used different instruments. To me, he is every bit the genius as Beethoven, Bach, Tchaikovsky, etc.

I saw TD live just a few weeks ago. Must say that i was happy about the way the 3 remaining members (also the last line-up which had Edgar as their leader) seem to return to form i.e. the music Franke-Froese-Baumann started creating in the 70's. Especially the free-form improvisation 'encore' of about 50 minutes in length during that gig gave me the goosebumps again... Understood this was also the 'message' they got from Edgar Froese just before he travelled to another cosmic address...

Rather than a tribute this is more like the "very ordinary" work of EF. OK... thanks for putting together a collection of solo stuff few of us have heard before, but it's far from a best off.
I liked only about half of this collection.
Same here. I love EF's work but anyone who thinks this is a well thought out list is deluded, some of his very ordinary stuff.
