Zakir Hussain is an icon for good reason.... he is not just an astonishing artiste; he is an innovator par excellence, he is a child with a fearless sense of artistic adventure and his soul is a synonym for rhythm! Cannot wait for his latest 'jugalbandi' adventure -- with Dhafer Youssef!
What a wonderful gift to the world You and your co musicians are Dhafer. Its my birthday today 30.11🏹 and full moon🌕. Thank you for sharing this inspiring video🙏
A concent video I saw from Dhafer last week featured the Taxim Trio, with Hüsnü Şenlendirici and his amazing clarinet; so I see no reason not to expect that! Edit: On 11th minute of the video I heard Dhafer mentioning our valuable Hüsnü, his face also passed in between; so yes, he is in!
After watching The Other Son, which features Abu Nawas Rhapsody in the soundtrack, I became an instant convert, adoring Dhafer Youssef's repertoire, especially after watching the concert in Istanbul on UA-cam. I discovered Husnu Senlendirici and Aytac Dogan (kanun) in that performance and have since followed Husnu as well. These artists play with their souls. I am so happy that Youssef has included Senlendirici in this album! I am a Classical Hindustani fan and so am familiar with Zakir Hussain. On some of the tracks I find that the tabla dominates somewhat, or has too high a pace (a little too high a pace and a little too loud for the Turkish clarinet at times, but not for the oud). Anyway, gentlemen, congratulations on this album! See you in London, perhaps...
Greetings from India! God bless you all for making this dream collaboration come to light!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
