I'm just no finding his solo work. I lost track after CBB. Really like the direction he went. My favorite is still the studio version of Seventh Son, the solo is Killer & I haven't found any other examples of that picking technique.
Wonderful guitarist. As a teenager I regularly saw him and the rest of the guys from The Climax Blues Band jamming at Bridge Street Arts Centre (Newcastle Under Lyme, not far from their home town of Stafford). They weren’t getting paid, they would just take to the stage with whichever band was playing that night and do it for the love of the music. He was a sublime player. He was always very approachable. As I was a young guitarist, he would happily chat to me about gear and technique - very humble. He had the talent of someone like Rory Gallagher, but he never quite got the recognition - I’m not sure he would have cared about that anyway.
Thanks for posting this. This has been a favorite track of mine for years, from the rare 'Music For Film, Vol.1, Blues' by the always-brilliant Pete Haycock. Cool...
Peter Haycock, another great guitarist who didn't get enough credit for the beautiful music he produced! RIP

For all those fans of Pete, I know that a biography of his life is in the process of being produced as we speak.

These guys lived out limelight while they kept to their craft and got better with age like a good Bordeaux.
Does anybody know what amp/reverb he used???
Any amp any time.................
