Product review of Arteza gouache paint; my thoughts after a few paint tests

- Today I am doing in an Arteza unboxing and gouache review on the 24 set of premium gouache colors I bought from Amazon. In this paint review we will be reviewing the color as is, the opacity level, and its ability to cover detailed coverage as well as a black circle, final sheen, and my overall thoughts on these paints. This is my first time painting with gouache so wanted to test them out to set expectations prior to beginning an actual painting.
Hopefully this video is helpful for anyone looking to check out the Arteza brand or for gouache painting beginners.

I've read a lot about the Arteza gouache and they rate VERY highly for a non-professional set. Like you, I never painted in gouache except for white with watercolor and am in the market for a brand. Really appreciate the commentary and showing them from multiple angles. Nice and they dry smooth and flat! And very opaque despite what they say! Ah advertising! Thanks! 🤩🤩

The fact that most of those colors perform much better than the transparency informations on the tubes and box tell ya, is really weird. Either Arteza doesn't really care that their packaging may be keeping people from buying their product, or they have no real control over it, since they are getting that stuff from chinese suppliers and are not making it themselves.
I was also wondering that
I just got my old Artesia gouache paint out. I've had them maybe six months.. some of the tubes had filled with air and the paint smelled horrible. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Hi mine were like this, and mine were very transparent, not opaque at all. Was very disappointed. Mine did not turn out like this test.😢
Oh no! I wonder if you contacted Arteza if they would do something about it? Mine are all still the same consistency and don’t smell

I got the 36 set mine are all transparent, not opaque at all.😢 the are filled with lots of air bubbles and they are very stinky smelly. Was really disappointed with them. I had great plans for them. I will have to look into other brands.

Arteza doesn't have a regular 36 Gouache set. They only have a 36 Metallic Gouache set and a 36 Spectrum Tones Gouache set. So not sure what you purchsed there.
So I bought the Jelly cups gouache by Arrtx on Amazon. Definitely not as opaque as I had hoped, but fun being able to use it similar to watercolor too. I have tons of Arteza supplies that I like. Glad to find your videos!
