Because kahani was entirely on Vidya's shoulders and became a hit too. The kind of roles in that year also decide the fate. It's a matter of luck too sometimes. Nevertheless Priyanka has mostly been nominated for atleast one movie per year of release in her career. She has won Filmfare in all acting categories. She deserved the national award too for Bajirao as best supporting actor but Tanvi Azmi won instead (actress who played Bajirao's mother)

The way priyanka portrayed the character of Kashibai was breathtaking and so real. She lived that character. I was shocked to find out she didnt get the national award. @@anan3367 I won't go to the extent of saying that because Tanvi did a fabulous job too. Also art is subjective. But Barfi being nominated as india's entry for Oscars and then not getting any national award in any category was really shocking.
