I have two Patton metal fans a bit more than half that size. One of them seems to be unbalanced when it runs. Could the lubrication be the problem as opposed to a fan blade itself being unbalanced? I dimly recall I stopped using it when it smelled hot, but don't recall that for sure. I do recall it vibrated when running, especially at higher speeds. The other one runs fine, but perhaps I should do some maintenance to keep it that way. They only infrequently get used, to dry something or to shift air from one side of the house if one of the dual system air conditioning units is down. I have not yet managed to get it to the dump for electronics disposal; maybe I should examine it more closely. Thanks for the video.
@@donaldstrader7241 Thanks for watching. It’s possible that a lubrication issue could be the cause for it running hotter. We had an oscillating pedestal fan in the house that got bad enough that the blade stopped turning, and before we noticed it got very hot. Disassembly was different, but the end issue ended up being the same lubrication issue. Lubrication alone probably wouldn’t cause a balance issue, but it might be possible to figure out if something is loose with a quick tear down. I did have a fan once that has a vibration issue caused by one of the fan blades being angled slightly different than the rest. I was able to (carefully) bend it close enough to match the rest by tweaking it just a bit with the front cover off, testing, and repeating until the vibration went away. It’s not ideal, but it can work.
Mineral oil works good too if you dont have 3 in 1 oil
