Actually, Russia has been using drones in Syria to attack Al Qaeda and ISIS troops back in 2014 & 2015. Ukros have copied that when Russia started this operation. This has always been Russian innovation on the battlefield.
For heavily armed western tanks, Russia is using the most powerful kamikaze drones in the world - a Lancet 2 & 3, but for IFV's and other combat vehicles and assets, they're mostly use Vandal drones. Sometimes, when they don't have Lancet drones available at frontline do defend their positions from UAF offensive, they improvise and use Vandals to eleminate UAF vehicles by loading them with two RPG shells or with some another bigger and more powerful shell than RPG's shell since Valdals quad-rotors are way more powerful than FPV's thanks to they can carry a way more heavier shells. Vandal is advanced and double expensive version of cheap FPV drones, hardware components are way more better and it's mainly produced for a special force units and operations. Recently, I saw somewhere that Russians were load Vandal with 2 RPG shells to destroy some building or warhouse, so they'll use their improvisations for western assets too, no doubt bout it.

@@DemocritusX Sure but seems very unlikely it will cross exactly where a soldier is and them finding it. I guess the looping of the cable helps give it a lot of slack, even if trees start moving while the cable is on there.
Doesn’t matter… the drone is playing it out as it goes

If Russia produces 4ooo drones per day it must be Russian. Stay strong Russia soldiers stay safe.
There are missiles with this system
the point is that this is way an few times cheaper and easier to make, for 40% of the effectiveness
Wow, who would have thought hanging a thread on a drone, make it impervious to ALL electronic jamming...😂😂
How can they jam so much fibre optic cables in that thing? How thin is the cable?
Drones… 250 microns… fine hair width perhaps… it does come in much smaller varieties, and larger ones as well. Undersea comms fibers are an inch thick (interesting question, answers from a quick goggle)
I don't think the cable roll (or whatever it is called) is located in the drone, but at the spot where it is launched from.
TOW missiles have 2 miles of cable on a BRADLEY
@@georgetheonlyporge the optic fibre reel is on the drone, reducing pulling tension as it unspools, giving a far greater range… i saw somewhere that a 5k reel weighted about one kilo (mostly due to the housing weight)…. From some military equipment site…”With an ultra-light spool of fiber optic cable attached to a drone, it can fly well, avoid detection, and crucially, avoid radio jamming.”
Only 3.21 Km range on the Bradley? Well that's 2 miles. How lame & useless! Minimum required is at least 10+ Km. Good luck refurbishing expensive crap.

30 km.?
Is that thing trailing 20 miles of wire behind it?
Yes, that's the point.
I must of missed that part. I heard @3:50 something, it flew an impressive 9km. Which is about right, the big canisters I believe has 10 miles or maybe it was km, can't recall, of wire and the smaller canisters are obviously less, say 3-5km, but depending on the size of fiber optic reel it has on said drone. Some of these drones are pretty big, loads are much smaller, thus can't carry an rpg head plus a large heavier reel of f.o.
Though maybe even bigger drones with big rotors can infact carry 20 miles of wire. Seen one carry 2 rpg heads and a big ass reel. So maybe those are the tank killers and fly much further as you said, idk.
Yeah it has a large spool like a fishing reel and it just drops out as it flies.
@@WhatLiesAwaitUS Russia just started using a larger drone with a grenade launcher. It's like mounting a M-203 onto a drone. 😳
Max distance so far is 9 km, not 20 miles!
I hope Zelensky is watching..
gotta LOVE the stuff this Beskrestnov pulls literally out of his bottom. At best the figure he mentioned is the price Ukraine is paying for Chinese drones.
You forgot to take out the % for the procurer! Is it not free money from the US and the EU? The procurer has to get back what he used to bribe and get the job and turn in a profit as well! We are not children to not know what goes on in such a 'swamp'! Why else does no one want this foolish war to end?
6:42 It's just a drop in replacement for the RX and vTX, the rest of the drone is the same as before except for the additional fibercable it has to carry and it's powered from a 9v pad on the flight controller.
Those drone pilots must be making serious bank considering the pay system.
Crazy!
A 9km+ range is amazing. How do they keep fiber optic line from getting tangled on tree branches?

However I don't believe Russia is silly enough to fall for such a mark up.

Ukraine started drone war they couldn't stop 😂😂😂
Actually, Russia has been using drones in Syria to attack Al Qaeda and ISIS troops back in 2014 & 2015. Ukros have copied that when Russia started this operation. This has always been Russian innovation on the battlefield.
USA EU, taxpayer's expensive toys into ash 🤔
Drone just activated first layer of reactive armor on Abrams. It didn't even get him out of battle.
All tanks are very vulnerable from the top. Even weaker explosives can render the tank unusable.
@@kunka592 Your writings is a pure bullshit. Obviously you don't know nothing about tanks. From the top yes, they are, but I was commented a this one video where drone hits Abrams in the front, and in plates of reactive armor. I didn't wrote about top of the Abrams. Reed carefully.
Was going to comment that the drone operators know exactly where the 'sweet spot' is on MBT's, like the Abrams. They avoid the front & areas of reactive armor, to strike areas like where turret connects to tank itself. Or, they can strike the tracks themselves & cause the track to come off.

Russia already has a collection of M1A1 Abrams which they showcased in May 2024 in Moscow, along with numerous other captured NATO vehicles. Out of the 31 Abrams they received, Russia (as of December 2024) has destroyed 20 of them! Because I guess brams were supposed to change the battlefield... maybe changed it by adding more scrap metal!
This is a VERY clever adaptation if existing technologies that highlights Russia's genius in highly effective pinpoint military R&D spending. They have made tanks obsolete overnight.

Prince Vandal is an escalation .. and can be used in any location in the world ..
Oh no !
Im wondering if range could be extended by the drone op dropping a weighted or flying control box for the drone before it starts to reel out fibre optic 🤔
Or are they already doing that?
Ps im half asleep
I'd also make a lot of cheap balloon drones that are so cheap and plentiful that everyone puts them up to listen for drones - because they have cheap mics - but used in-distributed formation (3x) can detect the acoustics of both drones + kinetics (being able to triangulate direction) that will be important in the future.
There goes the mined lithium...

They are already working on how to overcome drones. . . They performed well in Ukraine on both sides because it is a plain and open terrain. In conditions such as mountainous forest terrain, he would not give them too much of a role except for observation.
I can see arguments pointing to the opposite. Drones in mountainous terrain could be even more "game-changery"
