- Another Guitar Building video form Blues Creek Guitars! This video updates with the latest techniques for bending the sides. John also goes into details on how to bend, and setup a cut-a-way guitar. He also describes how to fix a major bending mistake
I wanted to build a 00-14 with the new template and halos, so I braced a 00-28 top and went to select back and sides. (Plenty of options) I chose Katalax (Ebony) which I had not bent before. So I go to the source (John Hall) for and update on side bending. I've watched John's video's before however this is an update. Thanks John, the Windex/Glass cleaner made the difference. It was the most successful that I've had. I was expecting to have to clean up oils and there was no cleanup necessary, no cracks, just beautiful grain.
Great vid, zany antics as usual but the info is pure gold. Also, I think Glenn uses Vaseline as a lens cleaner.
Just to help us metric users... .075" =1.9mm. Great video and thank you as ever.
i know Im pretty off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Edwin Ishaan Try FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
@Edwin Ishaan I watch on Flixzone. You can find it on google :)
great video lots of good info i noticed in the other video you put the blanket under the top slat why did you go back to putting the blanket on top????
less risk of raising the grain some woods are more susceptible to that
I have a standard OM bending form and a OM cutaway bending mold from Blues Crrek the cutaway is wider than the standard. Is that normal
yes and you mean longer , that is to support the cutaway section watch the bending library section on cutaways to see how this is used hope this helps you thanks again
Thank you very much for responding. I will rewatch the videos.
What blanket do you use?
the ones I sell are 6 by 34 in made in USA Pro Therm
Why is it so fuzzy?
Where do you get your untreated bucher paper?
U line I buy a 12 in wide roll and cut it with the band saw to 6 in. You can also use tracing paper from Michaels
Did you steal the satellite dish off of your neighbors house to make your sanding block?
LOL nope we found them from a guy out in Roswell
