Roth’s a genuine horror fan and I can’t bring myself to hate on somebody who’s passionate. 🤷♀️ I personally can’t get past the characters in his movies, and some of the humor, but if it’s just not for me then I can’t hate on him or other people who like that type of stuff. The hate that he gets is a little over the top.
I hear and understand some of the derogatory comments here, but no one can say that he isn't one of the prettiest men on the planet! Look at the "Jew Bear's" eyes; gentle and soft. I love him !!
Cabin Fever. The old yellow store is where my mom works and manages it. My grandmother owns it. Met the whole cast, and Eli. Pretty crazy that I can say I've met the Bear Jew at the age of 6 XD. But yeah, Priddy's General Store. Check it out!
He looks so incredible sweet, inocenet and beautiful and the first time I saw him I was thinking he makes mlvies like lovestorys and then i saw his movie list...
eli Roth loves horror movies kind of like me where we would take something we liked in every horror film and use it to reference it. He is Quentin Tarantino with his horror movies.
Eli hit the nail on the head. Him and I would have a great conversation. We have the same passion about the horror genre. Good for you Eli, keep the horror genre alive.
Loved your comparison on horror movies and its funny that I actually walked out of a movie theatre once saying what you said "Don't insult my intelligence". The movie was Ultraviolet, the scene when she rides up a building with a motorcycle.
Got fuckin' damn, I want this guy to realise and re-write another DOOM movie, for real ! His modern vision of horror movies with dark sense of humor, sometimes, and twists and turns that always surprise you; It's all a new revolutionnary way of watching and making hardcore movies ! .. Even If this guy goes completely insane.
his love for the genre is awesome. he is all about the fans, he is one of the greatest directors for the horror community! Eli has some hilarious stories and great advice, fuck the haters. the guy does what he wants!
I find it funny how he says he hates gimmicks in horror movies, but he himself uses the gimmick of trying to be like an old horror movie as an excuse for unlikeable characters and sucky dialogue
i agree with ur comments about eli roth...im not nuts about him either....but 1....green inferno is NOT a remake of cannibal holocaust...its a movie about the found footage in cannibal holocaust....and 2...its from 1980
Love Eli Roth, But seriously how could he think he has any justice to even make an almost re-make of Cannibal Holocaust. Like not just him but some many Directors Re-making movies that never ever needed a re-make. It's not really a cash in on Eli's part so really no die hard Cannibal Holocaust fans can say hes just trying to cash in. but none the less it kills me that directors do this. The remakes are always Sub-par and do not hold the weight the originals did or have the real heavy shock or identity that the originals do. Not saying that all the re-makes or re-makes in general are bad, a lot are enjoyable. The re-makes just are not the same and truly Eli is in his own right a horror master. But Cannibal Holocaust was, 1) defiantly a movie that was shocking because of the time it came out. Very few movie like that had been so heartless, visceral and cold. 2) It was shoot in a partly found footage manor, Which again at the time was new and somewhat interesting. Making the horror and brutality feel more real and hit you senses in a different manner. 3) Though in the original the acting s atrocious the movie poses a few interesting questions about human nature while showing extremely harsh consequences to being foolish in a place we don't fully understand.4) the originals goal was to feel as real as possible to us even really killing animals. It had a lot of gore in it's own right. But it is no in te woods "Turiestas, Cabin Fever" Slasher horror film, And for Eli to make it into a Gore-y Tribal Cannibal slasher flick seriously doesn't feel right to me.
Love Eli Roth best movies in my opinion are rated best to worst the last one will be in my opinion the aclammied movie of the year. 1.hostel 1 2.hostel 2. 3.hostel 3 4.cabin fever last one: the green inferno
awwww...u have to be young!!! hes too young to be a legend....george romero is a legend, dario argento, john carpenter sam raimi are legends...u can not even lump eli roth into that category! ya just cant!!!!
I'm sorry but he'll never be able to make a movie as good as the old horror movies. And if he is a complete douche then he's not gonna have many fans... js you gotta have a good attitude, sense of humor.
All he dose is talk about a good horror film he never dose it he makes really trashy horror films. Like I said before he talks the talk he dosen't walk the walk.
PerryCuda You know; Eli Roth has always been one of those people I just instantly hate at a glance. He has that smug stuck up fuckwit douche feel about him. I'm really glad to know he _is a piece of shit_ and I haven't been calling him that forever incorrectly. And you're right; he _really_ hasn't a clue about horror. He's just a typical shock for shock sake classless exploitation film maker.
What rubs me up the wrong way the worst about Eli Roth is that he always brings his Jewish heritage into everything. Anti-semetic conspiretards LOVE to paint Jews as being 'the bringers of immorality in society,' from slavers, pornographers to pimps and exploitation film makers; and of course they point to scumbags like him to validate their claims. It makes me hate him so much more.
I like the guy and he gets better and better, but cabin fever was one of the dumpest movies i ever saw till the end (luckily, because only the last scene was good/funny)
I don't find Eli Roth to be talented, he's more a fluke director than anything. He got lucky with Hostel and Cabin Fever, Hostel was extremely overrated and if not for the latter half of the film, a complete waste of time. Green Inferno will suffer the same fate, terrible dialogue, characters, boring first half, and just gore in the second.
How old is this guy? Never heard of him before. Frankly he sounds like a immature little brat. What's with all the cussing? That sure isn't going to make me go see your movies buddy.
Wow why all the hate for him. Dude makes fun gory ass movies. He isn't trying to win an academy award or rewrite the genre.
People don't like it when directors do something they deem "socially unacceptable" or "too disturbing". People nowadays are way too delicate.
Also he speaks his mind and is brutally honest, which people translate as being douchey, when he's just stating his opinion
Beastradamus let me guess: you're jewish?
I think he is a good director.
Roth’s a genuine horror fan and I can’t bring myself to hate on somebody who’s passionate. 🤷♀️ I personally can’t get past the characters in his movies, and some of the humor, but if it’s just not for me then I can’t hate on him or other people who like that type of stuff. He's so passionate about horror, it's heartwarming :')
xo xo not as passionate as he is with that squirrel lol
Like him or hate him, this guy loves horror films and you can see it in his work. I love his flicks, and who doesnt love the bear jew
I could listen to Eli talk about Horror all day.
I don't get why people hate on this guy
I like him the person but not him the pro.
I like him too as an person but not in his brain
No reason at all. He is definetly one of the top 3 modern directors.
I really like his views on the horror genre.
Sucks that Green Inferno got cancelled.
I doubt it.
Last I heard it got shelved completely. Bullshit that it didn't come out in September like they planned.
I come back to this interview a lot. Eli’s passion for horror is so evident and it’s so fun to watch.
I hear and understand some of the derogatory comments here, but no one can say that he isn't one of the prettiest men on the planet! Look at the "Jew Bear's" eyes; gentle and soft. I love him !!
He’s cooler than anybody. Best script writer director and actor.
"I have no idea what your question was.." lmao, Eli Roth is awesome, great director/writer, very underrated
I want to have a drink with this guy.
Why?
Cabin Fever. The old yellow store is where my mom works and manages it. My grandmother owns it. Met the whole cast, and Eli. Pretty crazy that I can say I've met the Bear Jew at the age of 6 XD. But yeah, Priddy's General Store. Check it out!
Yeah Priddy's Store
Still owned by my family
"I take these things very seriously!"
*squirrel puppet brushes nose*
He looks so incredible sweet, inocenet and beautiful and the first time I saw him I was thinking he makes mlvies like lovestorys and then i saw his movie list...
eli Roth loves horror movies kind of like me where we would take something we liked in every horror film and use it to reference it. He is Quentin Tarantino with his horror movies.
Eli hit the nail on the head. Him and I would have a great conversation. We have the same passion about the horror genre. Good for you Eli, keep the horror genre alive.
I love how blunt and passionate Eli is. :)
He kind of reminds me of kevin smith in the sense that his movies are fine, but he as a person seems more interesting
They should write a book on film theory.
Cabin Fever & Hostel: 2 of the greatest horror movies of all time. Eli also cast Cerina & Barbara, 2 of the best bodies ever put on film. Genius!
Truly one of the greater motion-picture horror minds of this age.
Loved your comparison on horror movies and its funny that I actually walked out of a movie theatre once saying what you said "Don't insult my intelligence". The movie was Ultraviolet, the scene when she rides up a building with a motorcycle.

.. Even If this guy goes completely insane.
I love how he talks about how there is a difference between horror and thriller
He's so hot :D
This guy could pull any woman in the world damn him!
@@ilck-ym-blals7385 so true
I love you Eli You are spot on. Keep it real./ and your films are great :)
his love for the genre is awesome. he is all about the fans, he is one of the greatest directors for the horror community! Eli has some hilarious stories and great advice, fuck the haters. the guy does what he wants!
He should do stand ups.
he remindes me of quentin tarentino
This video has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GREEN INFERNO but otherwise quite interesting.
"You already got cast." killed me. XD
Eli is the best director. I like his movies. It is not just scary but funny too. And that's perfect combination. And he is very funny :D
Yeah I notice, all the scenes of the movie cabin fever, are inspired by other movies.
the puprt thing at the end is sooo cute
I lovee how passionate he is about horror. ♡♡♡ And that puppet is adorable.! lol
when he was going off on his rant its as if the mouse was agreeing with everything he was saying and felt exactly the same way about it. crazy
4:40 is a great quote.
He has the crazy eyes.
Beleth It always looks like hes about to cry.
TasteThe RainbowXZ
Lol yeah, exactly.
+Beleth I think his eyes are just beautiful
I have always been a die-hard horror fan, since I was a kid.
the best horror director
I agree with some of what he says, but Freddy Krueger and his jokes are THE SHIT. i LOVE FREDDY!!!
He knows his stuff,,,,PERIOD
God he's so hot
Real Horror keep up the good work!!!!
OBSESSED
cabin fever is truly a sick disturbing movie
thereby, successful.
So true what Eli said about what is a horror film LMFAO brilliantly well said.
I find it funny how he says he hates gimmicks in horror movies, but he himself uses the gimmick of trying to be like an old horror movie as an excuse for unlikeable characters and sucky dialogue
he doesn't say he hates gimmicks, he hates certain gimmicks and then goes in depth to explain what they are (cheesy one liners, self referencing)
»The Green Inferno« is a wonderful, classic horror movie in the tradition of italian mondo and cannibal movies. Awesome and courageous!
its boring and not even shocking
In my opinion The Green Inferno (2013) was the best Eli Roth movie I've ever watched.
In fact, it is one of his only watchable movies. The House with a Clock in Its Walls and Death Wish were also okay.@@bigred171717
PANCAKES!!!
"No one takes horror seriously" coming from the guy who made "Knock Knock"
Jon Ludtke hostel? green inferno? he knows horror
i agree with ur comments about eli roth...im not nuts about him either....but 1....green inferno is NOT a remake of cannibal holocaust...its a movie about the found footage in cannibal holocaust....and 2...its from 1980
A theological thriller, suspense thriller, and psychological thriller what is the difference?
Love Eli Roth, But seriously how could he think he has any justice to even make an almost re-make of Cannibal Holocaust. Roth makes great points
The green inferno made me say "fuck trees"
Why...that’s Antonio Margherti.
Absolutely love this guy!
nope...its a film of the found footage in cannibal holocaust...in the original movie, they even called the video The Green Inferno
way all the hate for eli roth i want see him make more movies
I love this guy so much ❤️😂
Funny Q & A: no mention of 'The Green Inferno' though
I love this man
Love Eli Roth best movies in my opinion are rated best to worst the last one will be in my opinion the aclammied movie of the year.
1.hostel 1 2.hostel 2. 3.hostel 3
4.cabin fever last one: the green inferno
he did not direct Hostel 3 tho
awwww...u have to be young!!! hes too young to be a legend....george romero is a legend, dario argento, john carpenter sam raimi are legends...u can not even lump eli roth into that category! ya just cant!!!!
Good thing he is doing a remake of the second one. That one is..it's not a classic.
Remake?
I'm sorry but he'll never be able to make a movie as good as the old horror movies. And if he is a complete douche then he's not gonna have many fans... js you gotta have a good attitude, sense of humor.
This guy is so full of himself that he dosnt even see how bad his films are.
William Cate that's your opinion.
PANCAKES
No, the Baabadok is great, it got taken seriously. Green Inferno was awful.
All he dose is talk about a good horror film he never dose it he makes really trashy horror films. Like I said before he talks the talk he dosen't walk the walk.
Eli te amo i love you
I bet you are one of those people who actually bought a ticket to "Bringing Down the House." Always wonder who buys that crap and I think I found you!
Met him at a bar once. Complete douche. Doesn't really understand the horror genre as much as he think he does.
Maybe he thought you were a vagina.
Indeed, he looked uncomfortable. Perhaps it was good he didn't think I was a dick.
PerryCuda You know; Eli Roth has always been one of those people I just instantly hate at a glance. He has that smug stuck up fuckwit douche feel about him. go fuck yourself, John Doe
He didnt say shit about green inferno
It's like, bro, fucking horror, man. Fuck. Like let me list off some more directors and like rant and yell and like make sense.
I like the guy and he gets better and better, but cabin fever was one of the dumpest movies i ever saw till the end (luckily, because only the last scene was good/funny)
I can't respect anyone who makes a direct ripoff of a movie and acts like it's his own genius. Green Inferno is literally just Cannibal Holocaust.
nope
your movies are kinda lame dude..everyone of them have to have a stupid ending smh
Tarantino seems to like Mr. Roth's directing and movies, but what the hell does he know about good movie?
I don't find Eli Roth to be talented, he's more a fluke director than anything. He got lucky with Hostel and Cabin Fever, Hostel was extremely overrated and if not for the latter half of the film, a complete waste of time. Grant Durant ok director. What's your latest movie so I can see if there's a point to believe your rambling
How old is this guy? Never heard of him before. Frankly he sounds like a immature little brat. What's with all the cussing? That sure isn't going to make me go see your movies buddy.
What a weirdo
