Bri, if ever you doubt yourself just watch this video. You are such an amazing, patient, loving mother and teacher. Your children are blessed to call you Mom. 💕🌸
When boiling the peas you should add some of your fresh mint to the cooking water. Find a recipe for MUSHY PEAS, a favorite in the UK.
We have really bad deep soil here, so I plant my tomatoes sideways instead of deep. That way they are in my amended soil. May your tomatoes thrive like your sweet family. You are doing such an awesome job with them
My Mother & Grandmother planted theirs sideways, that’s how I plant mine too. Produces a much more sturdy plant.
@@sharonfleet6388yes, that's what I do! I didn't know you could plant sideways, laying down, but had heard to plant deep or big part of the stem. I had gotten some that got tall, and wasn't able to dig deep hole not had a garden area dug up,just yard with Bermuda grass so just dug enough to get shovelful of grass and roots, wondered if I could just lay the plant down. I dug one hole, laid the plant down, covered it up to the top, next plant I laid the top the other direction and buried up to the leaves, did that until all 12 were planted. It was on the west side of my mobile home,so got last half of the day of sun, maybe from noon on, and the roots went back under the home in the cool, damp dirt. In October I picked the tomatoes before frost, and got more than a bushel of fruit, close to two! Besides what I had eaten all summer, egg sandwiches, just tomatoes by themselves, any way I could! Didn't fertilize, just watered every couple days or as needed.
That's what we did this year because our soil here is DREADFUL. They're lookin' nice so far! 👍
What a beautiful sound…children singing praises. Well done Bri..your awesome!!!!
Love that you're children are allowed to get dirty and eat from the garden, best form of building their immune system
Good for them developmentally in general
Bri your older girls are such lovely young ladies. It’s just warms my heart to see how they help you with the twins. She had all the mud off of them and cleaned up so nice and wrapped like little gift’s sitting on the bench on the porch waiting for their naps. So cute.
Don't be afraid of tomatoes in clay. I have done really well with the same method you are using by putting compost and cardboard on clay and planting through it. My tomatoes are huge and I have harvest several almost 2 pounders this year. The tomatoes seem to like the way clay holds moisture. Clay is actually nutrient dense it just is very hard to physically work with so most people don't like planting in it.
Just a little FYI Bri, ladybugs eat aphids, and will pollinate, am I missing something? I noticed you mashed one. If you have any use some of your homemade compost under your tomatoes😊 I love your little machine!
I wondered about the lady bug too. I also love the little composter, I have a little bucket one and that is fantastic but slow, the machine is so cool!
She said it was a bean beetle
It was a ladybug, you do not kill those
You're doing great:)) and am thinking of Art and hoping he is able to recover quickly. We love you both!
I haven't got all my tomatoes in either. Its so hot today my heart is racing. I need to get them in, its to rain for 4 more days. Ugh. I put water in the hole before putting the tomato in or they won't do well.
Bri, I too have clay soil and gravel.
What I do for tomatoes is dig a shallow trench, throw some compost and fertilizer in the trench and lay the tomato plant down on it's side, cover all but the top of the plant and make sure to chop and drop some mulch over the covered trench to retain moisture. It's amazing how fast the tomato rights itself and takes off growing. 🍅
Great tip! Wish I had thought of that!
@@Brifromscratch 22:23
Bri. It's not too late. Go get more tomatoes and lay them down. 🌱🍅🌱
What do you do for Powderly mildew? We’ve had so much rain for the past 2 weeks that today I saw it on my first squash. Ps. Those peas look so good!
Hey I have a question my daughter and son-in-law have some tomato plants that have been in the ground I am normally would have yielded some fruit by now but they haven’t some of the plants have some black spots on the leaves but not everywhere. We live in Maryland. Checking to see if you may have any suggestions?
Bri, for first time I m going to save my seeds. All my garden is grown from heritage seeds and time to harvest my own this year. I m wondering though what is best way to store them?
"everyone give Lulu a bite" rof lmbo.. many blessings everyone.
Life does not often turn out as we anticipated, but there can still be joy. I think we are both on a journey to learn this lesson.
Plant your tomatoes sideways(laying down) if you cant go deep enough
I've seen that, they say they do great!
Thanks
❤
❤❤❤
Confused about your name of your video clip???🤔
I believe she is referring to the tomato plants that should have been planted two weeks ago. They were looking bad and she is surprised they are not dead.
👋👋❤❤👀👀🙏🙏
You are doing an amazing job🫶🏻Lord Bless you and your entire family🙏🏽
I truly believe, if all children were exposed to this wonderful world of gardening as shown here, we would have happy, healthier kids.
You are so right.
With a comprehension of how long and labor needed to grow food!
More confident kids, also. Grand Blessings everyone.
Not everyone lives where they can grow a garden
@@nancyfarkas3592 actually we all pretty much do live where we can grow food. Indoors works too. And growing sprouts or mushrooms or quill. A quart jar can grow sprouts. Many blessings everyone.
Thank you againBri. Your children have learned that helping is rewarding. A great lesson to learn, but not always an easy one to teach. You have raised them well.
Thank you for keeping your UA-cam channel ❤
I'm doing chemo cream treatment for skin cancer, and I'm missing picking our berries and playing in the garden. Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through your videos. ❤️
Love, especially seeing you all sing His praises n thankfulness around the table again! It's been over 3 yrs since I accepted the invitation to join you n family ❤
I love the smell of fresh basil and thyme. Your garden looks amazing.
Wonderful mother...bless you,Bri and your children.
I have been watching your videos a long time and I have to say I blown away at the way all your children love vegetables.all the kids are so helpful and well mannered your a great mum and them twins are adorable so funny they have me in stitches it's a pleasure to watch you all take care God bless🇬🇧
Me too I have been watching from the beginning and I have to say that I can't help but wonder how Art is doing 🤔🤔🤔
Aw bless ,
I just love ur little family bri ,
Therr beautiful, well behaved ,and very smart and helpful ,
Love there prayers at meal time ,
Those peas looked lush and the chicken ,yum look so moorish ,
You really are amazing ,lady ,
Mum ,gardener ,home maker ,al
In one ,u work very hard and it al
Pays off ,
You live in a beautiful place out there. You all are so blessed.
Tomatoes can be laid down with top 2 inches exposed also. Then most of roots are in the good ground. Many blessings everyone.
Have you ever stripped your tomato stems and the laid the plant down with the tip sticking out? You bury the stems in a trench and just the top sticks out at the end. We did it and you can plant one plant like that and it will grow more plants. Bought less plants and ended up with many more. We were amazed!
Bri, I love your videos so much! This one brings back so many memories with my kids as they grew, and the gardening which I still enjoy just as much as I did in those days. What a blessing that you can get your toddlers to nap, I never got that break without outside help anyway. You are a terrific mom!
You don't water as you plant? How does that work out for you. They are easy to just use seeds for those.
Ladybirds eat aphids and other garden pests. Clay soil is dense with nutrients even though it's very heavy. Grace and Joyful are the best big sisters, so helpful, responsible, loving and caring, they will be excellent parents. 💖
That wasn’t a ladybug. It was a bean beetle. Clay soil stunts the growth of plants.
Plant extra tomatoes anyway, u may be surprised, u can alway cover then in fall.
You have had a lot of help and have alot of help. You ate lucky.!!
You can plant your tomato stems sideways if your good soil isn't deep
This year for the first time I decided to plant a very small above ground garden. I HAVE to go out and look each morning and again in the evening to see the progress. Mostly we will get a sampling of what I have planted, which are small rows of broccoli, lettuce, Swisschard, sugar snap peas. Can't imagine the reward you must feel being able to raise enough food to feed 7 children. Thanks Bri for the inspiration!!!
I'm thinking they don't raise all their food. Many blessings everyone.
@@MissBetsyLu True, she has stated she doesn't, not like on the farm. Still, she raises organic and quite a lot.
Garden looks amazing!
Do you still have your dog? I never see him outside playing or in the house. Dogs really need to be part of their "pack." 😢
She is always with us. You just don’t necessarily see her.
Love your channel. I learn a lot from you and am so encouraged to get into my garden more. Would love to hear more about how you home educate and include your children in the gardening.
Add a sprig of mint to your peas. My gran would bring the water to boil add a big pinch of salt, add peas and mint turn off burner and let them steep in the water for 5 to 8 mins then strain and serve. You are doing such a great job, you should be proud of what you and your babies have done. May the lord fill your heart with love and strength, because it fills my heart watching y'all. Its winter here in Tasmania and all my beds are covered up, i can not wait to get my hands in the dirt this spring.
I watch your videos several times, because I am so encouraged by your spirit.
Concerning ourselves with fault is a poor teacher and an even worse motivator. We deserve grace, just as we extend it to others on their bad days. And learning from life’s challenging days is all part of that grace.
DOLCE BASIL when in pots can go inside. Then your rooms smell nice. I have clay also. Have to buy stuff to mix with. John and Bob's Soil Optimizer sounds good. Suppose to be the same as adding tons of compost. Thinking in the Fall. Jung's Seeds.
Hay covergirl: has Brianna ever done a copy haircut from a photo when growing up: a short or shorter cut is a simply stunning way to naturally uplift and regrowing is natural as well. Just wondering ; view some haircuts . If , take photo to haircutter. FYI , I mention because it's fun, some cuts really are an artistic amazement. Growth is 6 inches a year
You can also plant tomato's sideways and get the benefit extra rooting in the better soil.
Hi ,from UK,
Just having a bri ,break ,
Soon as I'm done doing stuff ,I relax and check see iff ur on ,and I was lucky ,
Found u ,
I know how u feel about finding things dead ,,I just been out found 2 of the kids sun flowers dead,
No Idea how ,and all my cabbages have been got at one way or another ,either slugs or flaming catapillers ,gutted
How do 'ya do it all Bri?!!! Your dinner looked soooo good!! Evening time is so peaceful, glad you get some 'you' time sonetimes!! God bless💕🙏💕
Share extra produce with friends and neighbors. Frozen peas are really good in tossed lettuces. Imagine raw would work.
Our family sings that blessing, with different words:
Be present at our table, Lord.
Be here ,and everywhere, adored.
These mercies bless and grant that we
May feast is fellowship with thee. Amen.
Your kids will treasure their upbringing one day. Most people don’t teach kids responsibilities any more. They don’t teach skills any more! 🙏♥️🙏♥️🙏♥️
Jess from Roots & Refuge plants a raw egg below the tomato’s ….. it, adds significant nutrients… & you get great growth
Frozen peas are great in salads... almost as good as fresh 😊
Basil with dirt is the best. I was watching that and thinking that and then you said basil with dirt might not be so good haaaa. And you knew it is perfectly maybe ok. There is nothing better than building a strong immunity than eating a spec or so of good old natural dirt. I love you so much for this always letting kids be kids.
Brianna you are rocking this period of your life. I know how hard it was to be a single mother of 1 and my house was never so clean.
❤❤❤
The peas looked yummy. I like to mix mine with yellow rice but neither my husband or son will eat them. More for me.
Please my daughter had a life altering head injury on roller blades. Her head injury could have been prevented if I was home and made sure she was wearing her helmet. Please get a helmet .
Thank you. You inspired me to go plant some squash.
Bri, did you know you can plant your tomatoes on their side since you can't go deep.
You can also plant your tomatoes on their side in a trench if you want to avoid the clay soil. They will automatically turn up and start growing up towards the sun and will form roots all along the stem on its side. Just a thought. Love your channel ❤
You might could have used the "trench planting method," with these plants and soil conditions.
A good way to eat those shelled peas if you think the kids wont want them cooked. Is put them in a pasta salad raw. Thats the best!
I love a layered cornbread salad top layer is always Peas and chopped green onion mixed and bacon as croutons added at serving time.
Your garden is amaaaaazing! Love seeing the littles in the garden. Love the sweet life❤️
Good helpers as always. 💕
I love FAMILY 🀄 PRAISING PRAYING and SINGING during your dinner prayer time. I've been watching lots of older farm VLOGS.
I so love being at the farm with all of you. ESPICALLY the animals,
BRI, I hope you can find your HAPPY PLACE with your goat's and cow's steers and babies sooner. I am THANKFUL that you have
a dog. Maybe your older daughter can show us how, the dog is growing up so much, I love each of you and praying with you in JESUS'S NAME AMEN HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH HALLELUJAH.
GOD BLESS YOU 🀄🛐👍 thank you for inviting me to visit your VLOGS. CIAO ❤️🀄
You can plant tomatos. There just be fall plants.
Bri you are a work horse ❤
Blessings from North Texas ❤
You are doing so awesome your channel is one of the best. Your family is blossoming and growing. You need to be a leader for women in your community. Your editing and story telling has just gotten to the next level. The sequence for cooking flipping perfect, fast paced but not lacking in content. Zen feeling of the homestead.
So much energy and fun in one house! ❤️
I'm not a big tomato person. I like to make tomato basil soup and freeze it till cool weather.
I’m so confused. I’m positive that u have 7 kids but I’m only seeing 6 in all of the vids. Just curious where the one went? Hopefully everything is fine. You look great and so does that garden and food. Take care
I was thinking the same thing.
Cute! Ice cream sharing.
The peas look amazing, I just harvested green beans in our garden today. We're getting ready to get the peas in the next couple of days❤
I only just planted my poor tomatoes yesterday so mine are late too! May the odds be ever in their favor!
Chicken and melon on the same plate!
The auger tool you used to dig holes in the garden is such a great idea! Where can I find something like that? What is it called? Blessings 🌺
It's an auger bit. You can find them in most garden centers and online
Great to hear u all singing praises!!
Fresh garden peas - yummy!
You are a good Mother Brianna
I love tulsey lemonade.
Little dirt doesn't hurt
You might be planting your tomatoes a little close tpgether but it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck.
They are 18 inches apart
Freeze dry some peas. I bet they will be good. Yum
So good
I love tomatoes and everything else in the garden.
Bri, you are amazing.❤
You are doing such a great job! I absolutely love tomatoes and all things that they make... And I am trying so hard to get them all trellised and pruned ...then I had to go to the ER for some personal issues and my tomato plants went crazy over the last week of me needing to rest! I have about 50 suckers... I put them in water and they are rooting but I don't really know what to do with them lol
Oh anyone who is in SE Arkansas that might want some tomato plants... Let me know
♥️👍
😇🥰🥰😍🤩
💙💙
I love watching the kiddos eat basil. My middle boy loves munching on basil in thr garden... And he is my pickiest eater too.

Hey Bri and Kids, I think I'm glad I don't
remember when Dirt was delicious 😮😂.
A nice relaxing job shelling Peas😊.
I find i like the fresh Peas frozen first. They seem mealy when cooked fresh, after having them raw and crisp .
Try freezing some and cooking some fresh to see first so they don't go to waste?
Fried Chicken!
Kids from the South are so lucky🎉.
We never had Fried Chicken unless from a box 😳 it was yucky!
JO JO IN VT 💞
Peas are so good straight in the garden, I'm the only one who wants to bring any in for dinner. Lol. So they almost never make it inside which is just fine . Enjoy that garden ❤❤❤
Bri. What a lovely sound to hear your family praising the God from whom ALL blessings flow. You are an amazing woman. And your children are blessed to call you Mama. May the Lord bless you and keep you may his face shine upon you (Num. 6: 24-26).
Oh my im a super tomatoe lover. I usually plant whites ,yellows ,and san marzanos . And cherokee purples. I have abe lincolns in the soil too. I also love okra but it failed mostly last year. Im hoping it does well this year. Picked green beans this morn and cucs are coming along. Gotta plant zuchinni today , i hope. I dont squish jap beetles but i put them on a water bucket and deliver themto my chickens. 👍🏼 My soils clay too. Im e. Ky
When you started talking about fixing dinner, my first thought was “fried chicken” and then you said it. Hahahaha!! Southern cooks think the same, but one of my favorite things is fried chicken.
