Scott, I’ve learned so much from you over the years. I’m a retired baby-boomer who uses a walker. I with your help, keep my car immaculate. I don’t have a DA buffer/polisher. Doesn’t make sense for a two times a year user. You’ve done a great job with clay bar, interior how to’s. I would really appreciate a video on how to remove superficial scratches (clear coat). My car is black and you well know how they show any flaw. “Detailing your car on a budget.” A how to for people on a tight budget or physically challenged, I believe would be thankful. Link clay bar, interior, glass videos you’ve already done etc. into a series. Take care.
Never seen you so giddy, hilarious. My wife just commented that I'm going to go buy that wool pad now. Lol smart girl. Thanks Scott I'm excited to see the results I get from it.
EASY PEASY!!! So glad I found this video and the other on DA polisher comparisons. Recently purchased a 6" LTDA polisher on Amazon for about $80. I have a 2022 Subaru Outback sold new in December 2021, which was new to me in June (it was a dealer-loaner vehicle). It was time to put a wax job on the car, and I started watching videos on pads . . . all of which is rather confusing to someone who isn't really interested in actual paint "correction", but in keeping the paint/clear coat in good shape to begin with. Ordered a couple of the Rupes wool polishers and waited for today's cloudy morning. After getting the car washed, I was able to wax all but the roof (the sun had just broken through) in about an hour with a light application of Meguiar's Ultimate liquid wax. The result was just what I was looking for! Completely slick finish -- the difference was immediately noticeable between a polished panel and the next one to be polished -- with plenty of shine. Next up . . . my wife's 2018 Subaru Forester.
I would've loved to see Scott's neighbors reactions through this video. "Well Margaret, that Scott fellow has finally lost it" jk, thanks for sharing scott. Keep up the good work brother.
Best title to this video you can put hahaha" scott goes crazy " Scott is like will stop someone passes thru there and let me polish your vehicle just for fun because i found my old best friend hahaha
If your viewers knew what I had to endure in the late 1970's to the mid 1980's would never pick up a "Rotary buffer" and try to polish a car again...we didnt have youtube and mainly one style of polisher, single speed 3000 rpm and heavy Black and Decker...I didn't get my Makita "2 speed" untill 1984..I also didnt see a foam pad untill 1986 40 years later and my job has become easier....
it's a real pleasure to see you in this mindset ;) ok ok you convince me, i'll get a try on this one. so thanks Rupes, and thank you Scott for your honesty as usual.
this pad is amazing, just tried one with meguiars 105 cutting compound, wow no haze, no swirls, no holograms, nothing but glass in just one step using 105 cutting compound, wow im amazed. this combo will get you into one step process if done right.
I get it Scott. I use both rotary and da 15mm, 21mm. Temperature spike is critical as you mentioned, especially on softer OEM finishes. That alone can screw up a polish job. Agree with Rupes gripe also; not enough ass for the money
Scott finally I've never seen you so happy ☺ even when you discovered super clean or other products believe this is going to make your jobs a lot easier great video take care of yourself it's really great to see you so happy ☺ my friend take care !
Great video Scott! I think they problem with detailers today is they want instant Gratification and don’t have the patience to put in the work to achieve That flawless shine We are all chasing. And not to sound old but back in my day it didn’t matter if it took 10 steps to get that perfect deep glossy shine, we’d put in that work we were dedicated to the process because we weren’t satisfied until it truly was perfect! You my friend have that fire in you 💪🏼it’s nice to see someone go above and beyond in their research in order to prefect the process. You truly love what you do.
When we use our hearts in to anything we do God will always reward us with joy, enjoy his joy and the hard work this man shows us. God bless you brother and I always laugh and enjoy your videos thank you for sharing with us your technique and your zeal towards detailing and paint correction. God bless you my friend !!
I like all of Rupes pads. So far I really like my recently purchased Rupes LHR15 mark III polisher. I do agree that wool pads are for more productive without all of the heat buildup
Hey Scott, great video! I can't wait to try this pad, thank you for sharing. I watched one of your older videos on the Greenworks 1500 Power Washer. On the video you mentioned Undercarriage Detailing. Do you have a video on this topic? If not, could you share your methods for us? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us Bud. Love ya.
Hi. I find at least where to buy that pad and the description says: Rupes Wool Polishing Pad Coarse is a lamb wool sweater for removing rough scratches on hard varnish when polishing. Provides a visible result quickly on very scratched surface. Wool is used for highly scratched surfaces on hard-painted surfaces. After using wool round and coarse rub, a finer round pad and a finer rubbing / polishing agent are recommended, for best results in several different steps. Available in several sizes.
Scott you rock! I agree 100% I have been detailing cars for 26 years and the only machine I have ever used is a variable speed Makita rotary. You can feel it just as you say there is a sweet spot and you are making love to the paint.
Only crazy people like us get excited over DA pads! I bought a few and I have to say, I am loving them also!!!!!!!! Thanks for the heads up on these! These have a little drag compared to foam pads but they are so much more fun and do produce more shine than a orange lake country foam pad. Possibly a little better cutting also from what I can tell on my black Camaro.
Now that is how I like to buff paint!! Move fast, aggressive have fun instead of falling asleep plus having a heart attack from ADHD because it’s taking too long but the OCD won’t let me walk away. Imo a wool pad is so much better than foam pad! I would rather use a rotary all day long than a DA. Brings back memories of the good old days of slinging compound with a rotary buffer and that wool sticking to your sweaty face breathing the wool in your nose with that annoying tickle that would always come back, when your black clothes are now a crusty dusty beige, the taste and crunch of compound, washing the car multiple times just to get rid of that compound! Good times, good times!! I know how you feel!🥳🥳🙃
Fantastic working the sweet spot. So to speak and you shared that. Awesome you are. For all the info on your vid’s Not just the super one about the. Rupes pads and how fantastic they are. A thousand thank you’s
Hey scott how are you? What speed should we be using for each stage. Compound - polish - wax and sealent or all in one? Aswell what brand do you recommend for a heavy cut compound? Thank you!
Hello Scott, What are your thoughts on using this pad with sonax cutmax as a first step, then use rupes yellow foam pad with perfect finish as a second step on soft/medium paint? Thanks in advance ☺️
My question is what wool pad should I use for my 2010 Camaro. I am not sure how hard the clear coat is. Should I go with the aggressive wool (blue pad) or just medium yellow. My car doesn't have deep scratches. I am not expert in buffing but have experience working with 7 inch rotary polishers. Thank you for your help.
Scott, what speeds are you cutting at? Spread the product around on 3, then you ramp it to what? Sounds like 5? Is that correct? Thanks for the great video!!!
I’m a novice in detailing and I’m using that Rupes wool pad on 15 BigFoot, it is fun, but I have to polish the surface like 3-4 times to see some result on the grey paint
If you use a compound on this pad do you need to use a polish after this or are you saying all you need to do is use a compound and this pad and ur done
Scott - just ordered the Maxshine 15mm based on your excellent video review. Also bought a bunch the Rupes 5in wool. I decided to keep my Griots 6 inch and convert it to a 3inch for small areas. If it does not work well, I'll get the Swirl Killer in 12mm. You keep getting stars in your heavenly detailing crown for all you do!! Thanks a million Scott!!
Scott needs a cigarette after this one!
Ssshh. Scott is having his moment. do not disturb.
LOL Think he needs a smoke after that? Just kidding luv u Scott.

LOL! Great answer.
Never thought I'd see scott cracked out. Especially on Rupes 😲

*Scott, something funny I just bought the last one listed on Amazon 5.75" within one hour from you posting this.*
I would've loved to see Scott's neighbors reactions through this video. "Well Margaret, that Scott fellow has finally lost it" jk, thanks for sharing scott. Keep up the good work brother.

it's a real pleasure to see you in this mindset ;)

so thanks Rupes, and thank you Scott for your honesty as usual.
New Yorker officially becomes a Texan YEEEEHAWWW 😀
Not until he goes HooRahh'in

yes wool is best for scratches and cleaning with compound. Foam pad is more for shining for last step.
I get it Scott. I use both rotary and da 15mm, 21mm. Temperature spike is critical as you mentioned, especially on softer OEM finishes. That alone can screw up a polish job.
Agree with Rupes gripe also; not enough ass for the money

I'll definitely be getting a few of these pads now! Thanks for the video Scott!
Scott, you are a champion of men. Also glad someone else likes wool pads and knows how to use them, thank you
Your enthusiasm is contagious😜
Hi Scott, how would you compare this pad to the rupes coarse wool pad(BLUE)?
I have a few DIY DETAIL wool pads. I'll have to pick up a few of these to add to the collection.
When the bottle of polish falls down and rolls away....
Hahaha!
Scott, thanks again for the review. I've has these pads recommended to me before.
Great video Scott! I think they problem with detailers today is they want instant Gratification and don’t have the patience to put in the work to achieve That flawless shine We are all chasing. Thanks Scott, I've been getting really sick of microfiber pads, especially cleaning them
It's such a pain in the dick..
Any tips for cleaning wool pads?
Jeffrey it’s called a spur. Hard to explain but type in wool pad cleaning brush
danlc95 Best comment!! Haha

Make Loving the Paint Great Again.
A rotary with a wool pad is amazing. That’s how I started out 15 year’s ago. Dewalt rotary with a wool pad!
Scott you rock! I agree 100% I have been detailing cars for 26 years and the only machine I have ever used is a variable speed Makita rotary. You can feel it just as you say there is a sweet spot and you are making love to the paint.

LOL found his best friend, LOL
😏😏😏
Is the Maxshine wool pad on the same level as this Rupes pad or completely different feel and result?
Now that looks fun. Another great video Scott.
Completely agree. This pad is magical. I've used this on two correction jobs and all I needed was a one step. Leaves a very good amount of gloss.
great video again. I love those pads.ive been using lake country low lint wool pads 4 my long throw.thanks again
I cut my teeth in paint correction with wool pads a few decades ago. Agree 100% it teaches you correction like nothing else.
Fantastic working the sweet spot. So to speak and you shared that. Awesome you are. For all the info on your vid’s Not just the super one about the. Rupes pads and how fantastic they are. A thousand thank you’s
Scott do you use a spur to clean or fluff the pad
Hey scott how are you? What speed should we be using for each stage. Compound - polish - wax and sealent or all in one? Aswell what brand do you recommend for a heavy cut compound? Thank you!
Why not buy the the polisher ?
Such a passion in what you do. Outstanding video. Thanks for sharing all you do... Will it work ok with an 8mm throw? What speed?
Guess he did not like my smoke comment.
Thank you, Scott ! :)
Just bought one Scott can I use it with griots 6 inch or do you need a long throw
Awesome, really enjoy your videos
Better than meguires cutting disc ? & is this wool pad only used for compound ? Can it be used for polish aswell ??!
Scott, I have large dings and scratches in the white painted plastic/rubber door trim. Any recommendations on a fix?
How do you clean the wool pads?
Hello Scott,
What are your thoughts on using this pad with sonax cutmax as a first step, then use rupes yellow foam pad with perfect finish as a second step on soft/medium paint? Thanks in advance ☺️
Would this pad be good on the Harbor Freight DA? Or do I have to go buy a long throw polisher such as the max shine?
Do you have to spare the pads to clean them ever so often
Do you need to put paint protection after?
It seems to be great stuff Scott ❤
What is tje speed of the machine if I may thanks
Scott - You are a trip!! "make love to your paint..." Question: What makes this pad better / different than other wool pads?? Keep the videos coming.
how many time this wool pad can be use
Do you think a porter cable entry level DA can work with that pad? I plan to wetsand my hood with 1500 - 2000 grit , thank you.
Hey Scott. Does it still work well with a short throw DA? Nice video btw. I love how excited you were.
How would the wool pad work with a one step like HD speed, or is this pad only for a first step in a 2 step process?
Will this pad work with flex 3401 ? Also what’s the best way to clean the pad between passes, compressed air?
Greatest explanation ever 👍
What level of paint correction would this be appropriate for when considering least aggressive method to get the job done? Thanks.
Now going to pick these up for next summer on my ride after the new england winter.
What are thoughts on how to cleaning these pads
I’m new to wool pads, can you use wool to apply compound, polish and waxes? Or are they used for only certain applications?
My question is what wool pad should I use for my 2010 Camaro. I am not sure how hard the clear coat is. Should I go with the aggressive wool (blue pad) or just medium yellow. My car doesn't have deep scratches. I am not expert in buffing but have experience working with 7 inch rotary polishers. Thank you for your help.
Making love to the paint 🤣🤣🤣 this man loves what he does
Does this Rupes pad cut heavy oxidation or super heavy oxidation.
Scott, what speeds are you cutting at? Spread the product around on 3, then you ramp it to what? Sounds like 5? Is that correct? Thanks for the great video!!!
Scott I love your videos! Do you still feel the same way about this wool pad 2 years later?
now i know what scott does to his long lost friends. 😂 Appreciate you sharing your passion with us scott! getting one of those asap! :)
I’m a novice in detailing and I’m using that Rupes wool pad on 15 BigFoot, it is fun, but I have to polish the surface like 3-4 times to see some result on the grey paint
Maybe a hard paint step up to a coarse compound or the blue wool
Nice video! How do you clean this wool pad after you're done polishing a car?
Have you tried the "Lake Country Pre-Washed Low Lint Lambswool Pads" yet? If not, could you and give us your comparison thoughts?
rupes has a yellow wool pad a bigfoot wool pad and a detail king which one is better?
hi Scott I was wondering what ypu use to clean and protect convertible tops thanks love all your videos
If you use a compound on this pad do you need to use a polish after this or are you saying all you need to do is use a compound and this pad and ur done
Can I use this pad on a soft paint
just curious , would these pads work on a makita rotaty?
I bought that pad today just cause of this vid and used it with 3d speed but the pad was a tad bit grabby on the paint, did I not use enough polish?
Rupes its just like that!
Amazing!
You should try the machines too🇮🇹❤
Scott - just ordered the Maxshine 15mm based on your excellent video review.
Sorry I'm new to detailing, but can wool pads be used to finish or are they more for cutting?
Easy to please give you a good pad and you will definitely be busy. I like your drive and thanks for this tip.😎
Love the enthusiasm 😂👍
I learned on the wool pads it works and tried foam pads last week its not good anymore.
Your comparison about the standard shift is a good analogy.
if passion was the same thing as snow, you would be a walking blizzard ! Ha ! : ) I love your work
Can you use this pad on the harbor freight bauer da..
Scott, I would have loved a before and after of the clear coat thickness! Consider for future video??
Can you use a compound polish with this rupes pad Scott
Which polisher do you recommend to use with this pad?
