I love these Hydro Spiral tubes in my big pots, after setting them up I have a moist pot with no water coming out the bottom and no leaching of nutrients. what a water saver ,thank you.
I'm confused about the us with a pot. Doesn't any water come out the bottom? If I pour a gallon of water into a Hydro Spiral tube in under a minute, will it slowly seep out the edges and avoid draining out the bottom, or will most of it go out the bottom? Also do I have to combine it with a slow drip watering to avoid the quick drain?
@@jeffmeyers3837Buddy had an irrigation set up that wasted water to runoff and evaporation. For hydrospirals, you want to utilize the slow drip emitters included. These will allow water to seep down and then gradually absorb back up to the surface- it can permeate large containers/raised beds. One tube can reach up to 3-5 for out depending how long you run the system. The tube comes with 1 GPH slow emitters which we recommend. You can switch it out to whatever suits your purpose. Pouring a gallon straight into the tube will lead to runoff- the pictured watering with a can was fertilizing with VermisTerra tea straight into the tube. Hope that helps clarify your question.
@jeffmeyers3837 Great question. If you pour a gallon of water into the spiral, yes, it will come out the bottom after it works it's way through the soil. It works best with a drip system using a 5 GPH emitter with my 30 gallon pot . Once I found the happy spot that being how long the irrigation is on and the size of the emitter I'm using, the entire pot is Moist and no water is leaving the pot saving water. I love how they work. I hope this helps
