Great little documentary. This inspired me to write a poem about the need for all creative people to create now, don't wait for later. You don't know how much time you have left. Beautiful and sad documentary, but I'm glad I watched it. I've never heard of him and his art is just brilliant, such talent. RIP Richard, your art will live on.
I ADORE Richard's work!! Since I discovered him, I've been on the hunt to track down a copy of "Richard's Poor Almanac". Alas, no success as yet, except as an online comic. Hoping one day it will go to reprint!
You know what's weird? I loved Cul de Sac. I bought the giant collection. ... I didn't know his name. I think it has more to do with other factors, but still.
His work is reminiscent of Pete Searle from the 1950s & '60s please see Pete Beard's The UNSUNG ILLUSTRATORS. To take nothing from Richard. He does have a predecessor of similar genius. Respectfully yours Gregg Oreo Long Beach Ca Etats Unis
Richard Thompson is SO great! CUL DE SAC is the LAST great newspaper comic strip that ever will be...and it is one of the best that ever was. As great as is Bill Watterson and as was CALVIN AND HOBBES, Thompson and CUL DE SAC are better!

Truly one the best cartoonist that ever graced the printed page. I have enjoyed his work for many years and this is a great tribute to his talent.
