An extra comment for the thumbnail people. I get you need the clicks and all but we are gonna watch arena because of our love for it anyway, you shouldnt use characters that were not being represented on the tournament for the thumbnail since it sends wrong impressions. That is all much love and respect for you Rips
I'll just give you a more detailed answer here hoping people see it. Our Thumbnails look like they do, because we actually have an entire design team working on them. The reason is the following: We want to produce high level content and we have a very high standard we want to keep not only on the "in-video"-production level but on the thumbnails too. Every single thumbnail you see here on this channel takes around 4-5 hours work (JUST for the thumbnail alone) and they are done BEFORE the tournament even starts. Since you're aware that we post tournament content DAILY we don't know in advance what characters will be shown in the actual video. So we only have 2 options: Go to super generic standard thumbs like all other channels, where we just slap an mk char png with a big font "catchphrase" on the video, or keep these custom made, 3d animated thumbs going forward. It makes me kind of sad, that people dont realise how much effort is going into every single thumbnail daily. Like have you ever seen Ermac holding a custom rendered Arena Trophy or something like that anywhere else? It is straight up impossible to have thumbnails ready on that level 1 hour after the tournament is finished and going to youtube, thats why we order them in advance. I hope that makes things a bit more clear.
Ah i see now. I wasn't aware that the design team had no clue what characters do and do not appear on the matches. About the design process i know it takes ton of time, i have done a couple works myself i know its grueling at best. Of course much respect for the level of the design i was just unaware that the thumbnails are done before the actual matches took place, so that answers a big question and thanks for taking the time to clarify that.
@@TheArmyofHades Little Funfact: When I ordered these thumbnails my thought process was the following: Kanimani said he's gonna main Ermac from now on, so I expected Kanimani to make Top8 with that character, cause he's just an insane player. My next guess was Roethor with Quan Chi, but my boy dropped out before making it to Top8. (Roethor if you see this, we're still proud :D )
@@R1psArena Nice thanks for sharing some of the lore behind it much appreciated. It is indeed very unfortunate Roethor didnt make it i was sure he would have entered top 8 at least but the overall level is so high that its hard to consistently win against these pros.

R1ps Arena does more marketing for the game than NRS themselves. I decided to buy MK1 after watching this tournament and hope to meet some of you guys at the Arena. The last time I touched the series was on MK9, I'm looking forward to scrape off some of that kombat rust.

The fact that faysal and kani was so on par with each other that they could only win rounds by counter picking each other till the end, that’s the power of learning multiple characters at the highest level GGS

Just one quick question though, how come finals are after the newest patch and not in the previous season?
Finished the finals today too long for one go. Lets start lengthy analysis. We got tournament mode Fabbz. Spoiler alert i will be mentioning winners dont read unless you watch first. Match:1 VGY vs Kani. Vgy has brought Shao and refuses to let him go opting to switch only kameos. Kani has brought Raiden. The nerfs are apparent but Kanimani is still a genius. Masterful match. Match2: Gambler vs Faysal two beasts going at it. The best Johny vs a multicharacter specialist. Faysal is on steroids and his ranking i feel does not reflect his actual skill i think he is higher. I am with Gambler on this one but Faysal is a different breed. Match3: Gambler vs KK. Kk brought the best out of his Sindel but Gambler warm from fighting Faysal is steaming hot and takes the W after a sweaty match full of back and forths (this is the motto of the night). Match4: Vgy sticks to Shao to the last (much respect for that) Rinzler sticks to Reiko this is also poetically lore accurate. A full on back and forth VGY does his big boy dmg confirms, Rinzler's tremor game is on point today plus his zoning is excellent. It could have gone both ways, but Rinzler was hot today. Match5: Winners finals and Kani brings the Raiden while Faysal is using his classic Kitana. Very tough match both are losing to details, their defense is airtight and confirms are unmissable. Faysal takes it after a grueling match full of impossible reactions and reads. You are gonna see these two go at it soon tho. Match6: Losers semis, Gambler vs Rinzler. Even though i highly respect Rinzler with his recent improvement i was rooting for Gambler. Still rinz brought in a saucy Lao with excellent button options who apparently had Gamblers number since its the only sweep set of the night. Rinzler played 4d chess you won't see much better lao gameplay. Gambler was bamboozled. Match7: Losers finals, kani vs rinz, Kani brings the Kenshi rinz sticks with Lao. Rinzler makes Kanis life very hard with his dive kicks, great spacing and armoring decisions, but the Kenshi sento big boy pressure and damage eventually cracks him but not without much patience and a few lucky breaks. Final match: Faysal vs Kani this is a match for the ages legit one of the best matches ive seen in MK tournament history. Its a constant back and forth Faysal brings everyone the Tanya, the Peacemaker and finally the kitana. Kani sticks to Johny for the entire set. He took on the best that Faysal had to bring and the match was won by a hair legitimately. The microducks, the spacing, the conversions, the reactions, the parries, the pressure, the defense it was masterclass 10/10 in every category. Both deserved it but i was rooting for my boy Kani and i was ecstatic he got the clutch win after much blood sweat and tears.

Tournaments come out daily a couple hours just before i go to sleep so it has become a ritual for me. I enjoy writing the analysis and i hold deep love and respect for the arena for being my companion, so i try to always give my support through comments likes and shares.

@@twatik Stormcell is a lot more minus on block, so Kano kameo doesn't make him that plus anymore. It also does reduced damage overall.

I'll just copy my answer from a prev comment: I don’t know if you realize how much work our design team puts into these thumbnails. The thumbnails we use for our finals are prepared days in advance before the tournament even starts. The Thumbnails look like they do, because we probably put the most effort in creating them. We always try to guess what characters we actually see. The only thing we add is the text itself, depending on the outcome itself. We could switch to ordinary thumbnails where we just slap big text with a random generic mk-char png , but that’s not the quality standard we’re looking for.
They need to adjust the hit box of raiden d4 it is hitting full screen at this point

King Gambler should start playing some other characters so he can have a counter pick. Too many people know how he plays Johnny Goro especially in high level tournaments. Everyone studying his play style cuz they know how good KG really is. King Gambler still one of my favorite players to watch even with a nerfed Johnny

Wait im confused why did it reset again? Shouldnt kanima have won it the first time? But also what a grand finale. I was biting my nails on every round. Amazing high level gameplay. Im at a lost of words on the talent.
In a Double Elim bracket, players have 2 lives. So if you come to Grand finals from the lower side, you only have one life left where as your opponent has two.
So you have to "reset" the bracket by defeating the opponent with 2 lives to make it where both have only one life left.
Had the upper side won, then the tournament would be over.
I wonder if faysal just zoned the entire match and ran away and just kept throwing fans what kanimani's johnny would've done😂 whenever I play johnny people online spaz and get so scared they just run away and grab when you get close or find a way to push you back. Why can't everyone be like this and actuslly try to find, try to get better and fix your mistakes when you make them.
