  • Underappreciated and unpaid, the fate of our health sector lies in the hands of our student nurses. With intense financial pressure and challenging working conditions, one in three student nurses are dropping out of their degrees and 19,000 of those who made it through have left the country for 'greener pastures' over the last five years. As a result, 40 percent of our nurses are imported from overseas, incentivised by $10,000 on arrival. Is this band-aid solution enough to save a sinking ship, or is the future of our healthcare bleak?
