I'm flooded with memories of playing late night Paper Mario, Super Mario 64, Majoras Mask, and many other games at my grandmas house. I'd sit in the (at the time) newly renovated back room/laundry room and play through the evening hours. 25 or so years later and during family events I see the different kids in the family go play in the same back room while I stay out with the adults, it's a complicated feeling for sure, very bittersweet.
I remember when i first got my N64 on Christmas. And the day i put the DonkeyKong64 upgrade in. 007 with my Dad. Beating the water temple in LoZ OoT for the first time….
I remember my mom coming home from work and asking me and dad what we did all day. Finding us with a a case worth of empty otter pop wrappers laying around and an n64. Still in our underwear.
I don't even know what is like to lose a mom but that comment hit me hard. Hope this video made you find peace and remember all the beautiful moments lived with your mother.
I'm 31 still living with my parents and will probably will die with them fuck the law right now if I say I'm a kid then I'm a kid some people think I look like a teenager who's really stopping me but a simple human being?
Nothing brings me home like the Era of the N64. It's not just a console it's a time machine. It will bring you to the place you were meant to be. And some musical pieces will forever take you to that place in time.
There truly is something special about the Nintendo 64 and that era of video gaming we got to enjoy. I can remember clearly the first time I played Super Mario 64... I felt like I was transported to another world! Call it nostalgia or rose tinted glass memory, but I believe this is the greatest era in gaming. The amazing 3D worlds we first explored, the couch co-op, the music... pure joy. For most of us, I think it was a time in life where things made sense and were simple.
And out of no where Superman from THPS comes in and I realize I never hear those songs in old N64 music playlists. So so happy to hear this again. THANK YOU
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. People don’t usually use that song because it gets copyright claimed… which is what happened to this mix, haha. I didn’t plan on making money off of it anyways.
Yeah, but a bummer that the songs were seriously cut for all 3 Tony Hawk games on N64. I played them later on Dreamcast and Ps2 and they had all songs in full length plus graphics + videos. But back then playing THPS 1 was a great experience on N64 anyway
Excellent mix, but that 45 second opening makes it special. Brings me back to sitting on my cousins' floor, passing the controller around to play. Love it :D
Lost Woods kicks in and I would do anything to relive the first time I heard it, how my grandmother was around. The innocence of those times compares to where the world is at and it pains me. Maybe it's the people who heard and felt that that are meant to change the world for the better one day...
This is instantly my top three of N64 nostalgia music mixes. The smoothness of that intro was outstanding work on your part. Thank you for putting in so many songs you don't normally see in these mixes. It would be hard to improve on this. Of course, my recommendation would have been adding wave race intro as well as the Star Fox 64 menu theme. That's not even a critique. Those are just two songs that I like haha.
Landon, this mix is entirely underrated. plus the visual, the timing, the length. 800 subs now, i cant wait for you to hit 100k. Thanks for the content.
there was an after and before september 1996 when I was 13 years old, now I am 40 but my heart still beats like those days along this eternal nostalgia
i'm 38 now. just seeing those controllers wrapped up along the wall does something to my soul. truly simpler times, before all the hate. adversity and grown up responsibilities. i'm blessed to grow up in that era.
Honestly amazing work on the intro and nailing the set-up I think pretty much every kid had at one point: TV on the floor, game console near or on top of it, probably sitting cross-legged in front of it. Perfect aesthetic for the video, great mix.
Fantastic intro and vibe, I've played through SM64 hundreds of times (nice dustless dive there btw) and yet somehow the setup made me feel like a kid again. Great mix my guy.
Thanks! I plan on dropping a DS mix later today, and then an SNES mix a week from today (November 11th), so stay tuned! I will do another N64 mix eventually, I’m thinking that’ll be in late December
I'd love for you to revisit this and add some of the "lesser known" games like wave race, wipeout, bomberman 64. You've got a great way to make setlists and if we were in high school together around this time I'd be bugging you for mixtapes every few weeks.
I tell my wife all the time if there is one thing i miss about 90s gaming more than anything else its the music. Modern games sometimes i wish would just keep it simpler as almost nothing gets stuck in my head anymore.
I definitely get that… I think what makes older game soundtracks so memorable (or, “simpler” as you said) is their distinct sound fonts (this is most noticeable on the 64, and the SNES I think).
I really wish we could go back in time you know how in games you could replay a level I wish we could do that and just pick a level we really liked from our life and relive it again
The first 50 seconds brought me instantly back lol. The TV, the cables plugged in front, Knowing now that it's a crappy video picture lol. The games neatly organized I might add, however the controllers in back wrapped around themselves and just thrown about. That's making me scream but then I get to the 0:48 And I'm instantly hit with the feels. There's something about water levels and their music that gives off a sort of tranquil melancholy feeling from video games. Mario did it, and donkey Kong did it. It's a tie though for which is better.
Even though I ended up preferring the PS1 library back in the day, the physical system of the N64 itself where you can see the actual cartridge itself , is perhaps my favorite. I started on NES in 1990, but 1996 and the N64 was truly a magical time.
A Quest 64 / Holy Magic Century song would have been cool. Sure, the game could have been so much more and there is a lot hidden...but the OST has great melodies
I don't know what it is about this recording, I had to take my headphones off 3 times to be sure it wasn't coming out of my speakers. sounds like I'm sitting in front of the tv playing the game
n64 music is correct because it fits. I love n64. As Gamecube and others afterward are worse. When something fits. It would just do better for you. N64 has perfect spirituality. As games that have sequels that are on next consoles don't do as well. N64 is truly the best for the games and the console being so simple and quiet.
love the n64 sound BUT ps1 using CDs and a real audio chip they could literally record things in teh studio and play it in the game, thats why the music from the ps1 is so much better. heck fifa/nhl had real commentary in their games etc.
True. N64 games were cut short in audio and had no video scenes. But I was amazed what some games were capable of. E.g. WCW Mayhem had a great commentary option
You can breed new life into CRT TVs using a Roku unless somehow cable is still a thing if that's the case I'm telling the Supreme Court to keep my damn SmartTV that I want a real working CRT TV from my childhood if I made a petition to the Supreme Court to bring back brand new CRT TVs would you do it? I hate all of these companies collecting our data for the money we spend on them we could just get a huge package out of Cable TV we've done it before with 3D TVs and discontinued them who's to say CRT TVs can't make a come back in stores?
True, I do plan on doing a mix with much more obscure songs, however I think we sets me apart on the internet is the visual style of my mixes, rather than song selection I do want to do some more obscure categories of songs, rather than just more obscure songs too

"music starts at 0:45"
Nah, man I aint skippin THAT setup.
Haha, thanks for the support. I appreciate the viewership
Nice N64 music. I like all songs from Mario games, especially Fever and Chill music.
If I can give my SmartTV to the government for a CRT TV like in my childhood I would tell them keep your fucking spyware.
I'm flooded with memories of playing late night Paper Mario, Super Mario 64, Majoras Mask, and many other games at my grandmas house. You are not alone in those feelings. At least for now, you still have that house to return to. So keep cherishing that while you can.
You should be the fun uncle or cousin or whatever you are and go play with those kids in that room again.
i remember playing Ocarina of Time in 1998. I got to the Deku Tree and had to eat dinner. I ate so fast just to go back to play. Magical times.
Why is nostalgia so...cruel. I'd give almost anything just to go back for 10 minutes. Back to when life made sense.
With memories wiped for an authentic experience
I remember when i first got my N64 on Christmas. And the day i put the DonkeyKong64 upgrade in. 007 with my Dad. Beating the water temple in LoZ OoT for the first time….
@@Juniorsvg94 I remember discovering gloomy galleon on DK64 and was so amazed at how big the game was! Fantastic game.
I remember my mom coming home from work and asking me and dad what we did all day. Finding us with a a case worth of empty otter pop wrappers laying around and an n64. Still in our underwear.
Sounds like y’all need a dose of littlespace :P
Wow that intro hit me so hard, the feels bro, my chillhood, I miss my mom and these calm days...
That’s what I was going for, glad to send you back… hope you find some peace, brotha. Thanks for the support
I don't even know what is like to lose a mom but that comment hit me hard. Hope this video made you find peace and remember all the beautiful moments lived with your mother.
This comment bring tears into my eyes.

That intro was fantastic. The way it transitioned into the first song was real smooth
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.

That intro was honestly some amazing stuff. Especially with the transition into the higher quality music from the CRT audio. Great job.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I worked at blockbuster video at the time the N64 came out. I called out and pretended to have pneumonia. The memories.
Good times back then, I’m sure.
This is by far my favorite mix. Others had games I didn't mess with. This is banger after banger . I'ma finish crying now
The sheer visual flashbacks manifesting from hearing some of these songs for the first time in 20+ years is astounding. Great mix.
Update: Holy crap the DK Rap making the screen suddenly update to that gameplay is a subtle yet great addition to this. :)
Hey, I appreciate the kind words, glad to have sent you back in time for a bit.
That intro was peak i was but a mere child in this time but I remember it so clearly
Great selection. I was born in 92 so this really was a trip down memory lane.
And out of no where Superman from THPS comes in and I realize I never hear those songs in old N64 music playlists. So so happy to hear this again.

Bro that intro was *chef's kiss* perfect. Wow, just, took me back a whole 20 something years... damn
I'm so glad I got into collecting the old Nintendo games. So many nostalgic memories. Thanks for this list :)
Landon, this mix is entirely underrated. plus the visual, the timing, the length. 800 subs now, i cant wait for you to hit 100k. Thanks for the content.

Watch on 144p for the authentic experience
This is fantastic! I loved that intro.
i remember being so frustrated as a kid not catching that rabbit in mario 64 haha good thing my brother did catch it for me.
I was born in ‘88 so the 90s is near and dear to my heart, as are the early 2000s.
Your setup is gold; different from other channels. Easy sub.
Thanks bruv, I appreciate it.
Absolutely man
These videos need to have camera on the floor facing up to the TV to mimic what it was like when we were sitting on the floor as kids
Finally, another Landon.
Our battle will be legendary!
Land-on deez nuts lmao gottem
Absolutely love the presentation. This is awesome, thank you so much!
Honestly amazing work on the intro and nailing the set-up I think pretty much every kid had at one point: TV on the floor, game console near or on top of it, probably sitting cross-legged in front of it. Perfect aesthetic for the video, great mix.
Thanks! I was born in ‘06, so I never experienced that era. I’m glad the setup was accurate, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the viewership
Fantastic intro and vibe, I've played through SM64 hundreds of times (nice dustless dive there btw) and yet somehow the setup made me feel like a kid again. Great mix my guy.
Hey, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the kind words
Awesome selection here and as others have said, What. An. Intro! Damn I really miss the 90's.
Thank you for the kind words! Glad You enjoyed it
Props on the intro. There's some heavy nostalgia, right there!
These videos bring me inner peace 😢
PLEASE do more of these, be N64 or SNES or whatever, the background visuals are amazing!
Thanks! I plan on dropping a DS mix later today, and then an SNES mix a week from today (November 11th), so stay tuned! I will do another N64 mix eventually, I’m thinking that’ll be in late December
The intro sequences are my favorite things to watch.
That intro was amazing!!
What an intro!!
I was thinking you would swap cartridges and do an intro for each game :)
Quite the feat, I know.
Thanks for this, internet stranger.
Thank you, for the support!
damn i havent realized how long its been since i heard that high pitch sound from one of those TVs, i strangely missed it so much
I feel ya, I was only 6 when my family switch from an analog to a digital TV, and yet I still miss the analog days…
Thanks for the support!
Landon out here with ANOTHER banger mix! I can't wait for the Virtual Boy one!
Ooh, I was planning on doing a virtual boy mix, but now that you mention it, I might have to….
I'd love for you to revisit this and add some of the "lesser known" games like wave race, wipeout, bomberman 64. You've got a great way to make setlists and if we were in high school together around this time I'd be bugging you for mixtapes every few weeks.
Hahaha, I appreciate the comment. I’ve got another 64 mix in the works, so be on the lookout! Any specific songs you’d like to see in it?
That's a fire selection of songs, damn! Took me all the way back!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support

@@landoncoxmen Thats probably it but I just want something in the last 10 years to get stuck in my head for a bit. It's been a while.
What a beautiful set you have
Thanks! It’s all family equipment… older products last so much longer than products these days
I really wish we could go back in time you know how in games you could replay a level I wish we could do that and just pick a level we really liked from our life and relive it again
No microtransactions, no BS. Golden gaming era.
Welp listened to this collection for a day or so. Pretty cool compliltion, though I wish some other games were in here as well. :D
Thanks! I plan on doing another 64 mix, I’ll let you know when it drops! What other games would you like me to pull music from?
Nice.
Seriously coming up with such killer mixes my man, we all just know your channel & content is finna go soaring to high places. 🤩🌟
I appreciate the kind words, bruv. Your content is what got me interested in VGM mixes, so any success I get is in part thanks to you! God bless
The first 50 seconds brought me instantly back lol. The TV, the cables plugged in front, Knowing now that it's a crappy video picture lol. No updates or internet connection necessary. Just flip the switch and instant game immersion. Bring it back.
please, more like this!
I’ve got mixes planned through the rest of this year, and I will probably continue making them at least until Autumn of 2024
Bro¡ what amazing job you did.
Hope you can add a second part with new song and more extended
Regards my friends
❤❤
Thank you very much for the kind words! I appreciate it. If I do another Nintendo 64, I’ll let you know!
Forgot about those Dr. Mario bangers

Thank you for this XD
And thank you for the support!

A Quest 64 / Holy Magic Century song would have been cool. Sure, the game could have been so much more and there is a lot hidden...but the OST has great melodies

Don't ask me why I'm crying. If you're asking, you don't get it.
I get it. Glad to take you back in time for a bit
love the n64 sound BUT ps1 using CDs and a real audio chip they could literally record things in teh studio and play it in the game, thats why the music from the ps1 is so much better. heck fifa/nhl had real commentary in their games etc.
True. N64 games were cut short in audio and had no video scenes. But I was amazed what some games were capable of. E.g. WCW Mayhem had a great commentary option
A lil' sad Quiet Forest from Kirby 64 isn't on here, but I can deal.
Yeah, I forgot about Kirby…
@@landoncoxmen I noticed. But hey, it happens.
Why do 90% of Nintendo mixes start with "Dire, Dire Docks"?
Because it’s just that good of a song! It’s pretty nostalgic for a lot of people as well.
wow...less than 1k subs...we should all be subscribers...
why
@@CGplay186 ...what?
The best tmers for kids. Bar none.
:)
I like the mix, but you're taking the piss with the ads. Are you not?!
Thanks! I definitely don’t monetize my videos/put ads on them, so whatever ads you’re seeing are coming straight from UA-cam, without my permission.
@landoncoxmen
Ah fair play! UA-cam are taking the piss then! 😂
@TheWarTiger Indeed 😂 thanks for watching, bruv
No wave runner?!
44:08 - That crappy Tony Hawk song ruined the experience.
Leave such songs to the Playstation. The N64 wasn't good for such stuff.
pretty generic selection
Yeah, I went for the most popular tunes, that way more people would be nostalgic
There's enough of that online, get freaky! @@landoncoxmen
True, I do plan on doing a mix with much more obscure songs, however I think we sets me apart on the internet is the visual style of my mixes, rather than song selection
I do want to do some more obscure categories of songs, rather than just more obscure songs too
