Saw them at Disneyland up by the Tea cups, if I heard right they were playing TLC's "What about your friends?". UT alumni here, happy to see you do Tennessee proud. Keep it up!!!!!
Great job Tennessee State !! Great representation of HBCU Bands !! I was tryna tell Hampton this is how it's done .. when you takes big trips like these, it's important to make sure to be the best band there.. especially if you're an HBCU .. you should be heard coming from at least 5 blocks away .. that people are turning their heads wondering where that sound is coming from
I think HBCUs are going to be featured every year at the Rose Bowl parades now cause they play song everyone's familiar with and they know how to rock the house
HBCU bands need an open invitation to perform in the Rose Parade every year! They definitely rock the house each and every time they come out to Pasadena.
They do try to pick an HBCU every year or at least a black high school since 2006. FAMU was 2020 and Norfolk State is 2023. Although there have been a year or two where they didn't have one.
Yeah, they always have either a Black High School (especially from Metro-Atlanta, i.e Stephenson, Southwest DeKalb, and MLK) or they have an HBCU. Pretty much since the early 2000s.
What I captured here in the “TV viewing area” is probably less that 1/4 of what TSU played. And that’s just in this area. The parade is almost 6 miles long. If you look up YT, they played a lot more and with full of energy! I still can’t get over their Bandfest performance. Definitely one of the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen MANY Bandfest performances. Good job TSU AOB!
I'm so glad
I went to T S U

Somebody on the Rose Parade committee is definitely pulling for an HBCU band every year, and we thank them for the inclusion.

TENNESSEE N DA BUILDING!
I wonder where the drum majors went
I was wondering the same thing
The drum majors and a few other band members were rehearsing for the lakers halftime performance.
What I came to find out
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💙🎩🎶🎶🎶
what song are they playing?
An old Isley brothers tune, "Who's that lady"
I'm glad they were there but they could have played something better than I'm so glad. They were at Pasadena Rose Bowl Parade.
I'm So Glad is the school fight song
I'm So Glad is the school's fight song and it was usually played at the end of a medley that was can compiled for the Tournament of Roses Parade.
They played about 8 songs..this is just a clip.. not to mention the songs at bandfest and the museum..

It is their Fight Song. You must not be familiar with their traditions.
