I think the best way to think of what he said is this: we're going to stay concentrated on the Southeast. We will look at complimentary schools and rivalries. So... Florida State for Florida. Clemson for South Carolina. Then you have to think of 2 schools that expand viewership. That leaves you schools like UNC and NC State, or Oklahoma State. To pair off same state schools. If you keep Florida with Georgia, then Miami comes with FSU and you tout UNC vs Kentucky in backetball as rivals.
Clemson and Florida st feels like locks to join. I just wonder who joins North Carolina. Duke would be amazing to keep the great basketball rivalry. Nc state was the last acc school to flip and say yes to expand and also probably the most passionate fan base of the three. Also the one school that has most consistent success in football. Then Virginia is the last major state school left to acquire in expansion.
@@captainspartan04 but there really isn't any incentive for the SEC to expand. It already has the best teams and the best college football markets. I don't see any other programs that could add to the pie. He has states multiple times he does not want to expand outside the south. The only team that might move the dial is FSU.
If you’re going to bring in more teams, you need to start kicking some out. There are several schools that prove year in and year out that they don’t belong in the SEC.
I agree but I don’t see them kicking anyone out because each school brings its own value to the sec. Big ten definitely will to make room for notre dame and Stanford. I know the sec and big ten are both fighting over Virginia and North Carolina. I think they just split it where sec gets North Carolina and big ten gets Virginia. IMO the expansion should be Clemson, Florida st, North Carolina, and Duke to sec. Let’s you dominate the football and basketball market the biggest moneymakers in college sports. Virginia, Miami, Notre Dame, and Stanford to big ten Big ten kicks out Purdue and Northwestern. No need for 3 teams from Indiana and with notre dame already having a hold on the Chicago market no need for northwestern. Stanford let’s you get the San Francisco market and bridges the gap between the LA schools and Oregon and Washington. Also the high academic make up for the northwestern “loss” Big 12 gets Louisville, Pittsburgh, UConn, Syracuse, Virginia tech, and NC state those 6 seems obvious to reconnect the rivalries and Uconn Syracuse gets you with espn. The other 2 is a toss up between USF, Georgia tech, Memphis, Tulane, Smu, Cal, or do you let Purdue and Northwestern in after they get kicked out of the big ten. Even San Diego st was loud of wanting to get out of the mountain west. And you could even try unlv just for Las Vegas. They’ve already said no to Oregon st and Washington st so you would think they out. At the current moment I feel like it’ll be USF and SMU. USF so UCF can have someone close by to be their rival. SMU just to realign the southwestern conference the same way you be doing somewhat with the big east. Even tho smu hasn’t been good since the 80s when they were cheating
Interesting that this gentleman is critical of Coach Prime heavily utilizing the portal but he enjoys his conference raiding other conferences leaving them in ruins while the SEC revenue grows exponentially. 🏈🤨👎

Florida has made it very clear over the past 20 years they'd be a no vote for allowing florida st in.

He literally sat there and insinuated they are not interested in expansion.

Expand Sankey before it is too late and you are stuck with a small insignificant conference!

No one’s leaving the SEC. SMH
You did away with divisions so now many times the conference championship will be a rematch from earlier in the year. Boring!
