@@vnabhi thankyou, so it was bad between sagar and pench and after nagpur. about the kms, not remember completely but it was around 100+-kms.

@@travelbetween thank you. But it looks like you did not take the normal NH44 from Sagar to Seoni that goes via Narsinghpur and Lakhnadon. I think you took the Chindwara route or the one via Jabalpur. Can you please clarify?
As regards the bad stretch after Nagpur, I think it was the stretch of around 50 kms leading to Pandarkhawda--this part has been bad for the past decade.

@@vnabhi Hi, we took the nh44/ah43 routes only. sagar-devri-kareli-narsinghpur-seoni.

Raising questions about the condition of highways is good, but comparing it with making expressways is wrong. Both are 2 different entities and both are required. It's like we should stop all the development projects and all technological advancement until and unless everyone comes out of poverty which does not make sense. Do you compare Bangalore Roads with the NH44 Highway, BDW Outer RIng Road is NH44 as well. !!
Being a frequent traveler on this route I tried to find answers regarding the bad state of this highway in certain stretches
    1. The highway passes through one of the most economically backward areas in MP after Gwalior there is no major town leave alone city till Nagpur, due to which there is not much incentive for MP government to maintain it which is very unfortunate. Major traffic from Gwalior goes towards Delhi/Bhopal/Indore, people do not travel on this route beyond Jhansi, so less toll collection as compared to other areas is also a reason. Travel on Gwalior Indore route you will see a beautiful highway just like Telangana. This also causes trickle down effect, NHAI and State Government share the responsibility to maintain a highway, the toll collection company operates on BOT model but NHAI and State Government overlook the maintenance, due to less local acitivity on these highway the officers do not maintain the oversight on this stretch, or turns blind due to the bribes paid by the company. It is a major highway for India but is not of much use for MP.
    2. The infamous Nagour stretch - there is a court case going on Between NHAI and The company that is supposed to collect tolls, the toll collection company declared bankruptcy but they are not ready to forfeit the right to collect tolls, due to which the NHAI is not able to float a new maintenance tender for that particular stretch.
    3. Nagur-Hyderabad-Bangalore Route is one connecting 3 Major cities of India which gives a lot of revenue to these states and hence, there is an economical reason to maintain the highway.

@@AyushMishraIndian hi, thank you so much brother for this important information. I agree both highways and expressways are equally important but driving on such a bad highways is exhausting experience. One quick question for you, the Gwalior Indore route is safe for night driving? pls share with us if you aware with the night situation.

@travelbetween Gwalior to Indore is a very busy route a lot of vehicles ply on this route ! That route is also known as AB road (Agra Bombay Road) and connects major cities, it is as safe as any other popular routes in India.. and it is my opinion,.one should avoid travelling at night specially with the family..

Road kharab Hona Maharashtra Mein Gyan Chintan ka Vishay Nahin Hai Ya Baki state mein compared to the south jahil sarkaron ka aur karab government ka Vishay hai
