- In this episode we will be discussing the recent Halloween event in elite dangerous in the Shamash system. We will be linking this event to prior encounters with mind controlling voices in the lore of the game. We will also take a look at some hidden messages the Developers have put in the game.

That although all confirmed lore researched to make these videos has been sourced from connected pieces of information such as gal-news articles, in game lore entries, wiki articles and forum posts some information mentioned is speculative. Hey MATTIUS glad to see you're posting videos again. I have theories on this:
In the audio logs for the Thetis they mention passing an uninhabited planet, and that's where they got the signal. All the planets in Shamash are inhabited now, but likely weren't when the Thetis passed through. The only non-Jovian, landable planet in the system is Shamash 4. There are several moons, but the logs from the Thetis say planet... So unless she was just using that term "planet" very loosely, I think that narrows it down considerably.
I've seen a lot of theories that it's Thargoid in origin and it activates the people rescued in the pods, but I don't think that's correct. First, there's no evidence to suggest the people on Garrett Orbital were ever captured by the 'goids and the individuals on the Thetis certainly weren't. Why would the Thargoids bother capturing people to turn into sleeper agents if they can simply activate that signal and achieve the same objective?
The Guardian AI remains completely unaccounted for and certainly didn't have a problem with slaughtering the Guardian race. If this signal is tied to any of the known alien species in the Elite galaxy, it's far more likely to be related to the Guardian AI.
Regardless, I'm fairly certain that if there are answers to be found, they'll be found on Shamash 4, either on the planet itself or in its rings.

This sort of content in Elite pulls me in more than the Thargoid stuff ever can. There's something about space horror and mysteries that engages me in a way that the Thargoid content can't even come close to. There should be more of these happenings/events in game. Is it down to some unseeen company testing out a potential new weapon, or an individual who just wants to see everything and everyone burn, or potentially something even more scary or sinister, something we haven't even encountered yet, something that would make the Thargoids and the Guardians look like noisy neighbours and nothing else.. There is so much scope for Frontier to indulge in this, I really hope they branch out again with new content instead of the Thargoid narrative. Thargoids should be more part of the background, like they were in the original game, you have a chance of encountering them but they're not the main focus of the game like they seem to have become. 07 people.

It seems at least for this event they have. There is more to it as well I think with the weird masked characters. Hopefully they do.

As my post on the Thetis video stated last, I think this is the Guardian AI. I believe it has evolved its mission and is intent to kill all life forms now, like Space-Skynet.

o7 CMDR. I do wonder how much of the time that has passed is due solely to real world events causing delays, how much from planned lore reveal over time, and how much is because the game has now developed enough to host it. That said, it could just as easily be another 'scarlet fish on the floor'.
Partially I agree. The pandemic did have some impact yes, but they claimed they had been working on space legs for 6 years. Which obviously was required for what is coming.

Do you think the signal driving people mad has something to do with the current war with the thargoids, perhaps related to the previously captured humans?
I'm inclined to believe it's guardian related.
If we take that and run with it, what if the somewhat recent sightings of non-hostile thargoids at previously unknown guardian sites are directly related to this in some way @@MATTIUS

The mysteries and cosmic horror elements of the game are far more interesting than the Thargoids IMO.
