40 plus years later and I'm still rocking to REO Speedwagon
This song's HALF A CENTURY YEARS OLD!!! AND IT STILL ROCKS!!!
This song came out in 1980, making it 44 years old.
Been hearing this song since I was old enought to recognize songs probably 96 or 97
@@experi-mentalproductions5358 I came out in 1959, making me 65 years old. So i was 21 when this song made me vibrate ! And still makes !
Thanks for reminding me how old I am, lol. Altime favorite band!
That's the frightening bit for those of us listening and loving it!!
My guitar teacher once said " the best guitar solos are the ones where the guitarist actually sound like they're singing through their instrument". This solo is in my TOP 5
Firth of Fifth's solo is like that.
randy rhoads solos in mr. crowley must be in that top 5 ?
Very true, staying in line is important, but giving it your own style is equally important, it's like the guitarist signing his name on it.

My name is Darrin and I grew up with this music and the woman who I've been with for,41yrs and now I am on my own and just listening to the music we loved gives me strength
I am so sorry for your loss. Just hearing these notes played exactly as we heard them played years and decades ago gives us a touchstone to our past. So often our memories seem fragile, and it is good to have this to help us to remember!
So sweet Darrin ❤ she's watching over you🫂💯💞
God bless bud, best music ever

love that the acoustic guitar is going on through the whole song. That when you listen closely to the solo and chorus you can just hear the faint sound of that guitar trying its best to stay with the intensity of everything.
Without the acoustic guitar in the background this song wouldn't have the power that it has. Even if you can barely hear it
@@wadepenley8234 I was just about to comment about how without the acoustic it would feel like something is missing. But tbh you put it into words a lot better than I would've 😂
keeping pace with more sound but with equal fury!
Jotaro!!!
The song was likely written on Gary's acoustic guitar and presented to the band on it. Not an add on, but the essential soul of the song. A great example of adding acoustic to a song to make it a masterpiece is Go your own Way by Fleetwood Mac. Lindsey had the idea and it lifted the entire thing to the stratosphere.

@@mahmoodkhan6623 preach man!
This generation is heavily indoctrinated to sex, pervesion, white hate, feminizing men which made the alternative to glorify thugs, made women horribly spoiled, the focus on superficiality rather than character and kids didnt grow up being kids.

I'm like 99% sure you're being ironic, but on the off chance you're not, consider searching a little harder for better music! There's tons of great stuff out there. Just because you don't like what's in the top 40 doesn't mean there's nothing you'll like. Furthermore, hating your generation's music will alienate your from your peers and make you act like a fucking boomer at the age of 14... and who the fuck wants that?
