Drake Maye continues to be the heisman trophy candidate that he is, but this defense did their job in displaying the kind of killer instinct that would help get to the ACC championship game
This is a now-or-never year for UNC. The talent they have and the Heisman candidate quarterback is probably not going to come back around and in Macks career due to his age. They need to win as many games as possible and make as far of a leap as they can, because this team actually is much improved defensively. Power Echols that great linebacker core. There's way too much talent on that d-line. Secondary he's holding quite well. This is the year it's now or never, now or a very long time. But they are so balanced they have what it takes to be a top-10 team.

He didn't get the first. The refs decided early on that North Carolina was going to win by a blowout. I had no stake in the game, and I could see exactly what was going on. He was indisputably stopped well short of the first down marker.

It looks like side of left helmet to face-mask when you slow it down, but yeah, I feel like the posture the defender took before for the connection was trying for was top of helmet to helmet. Dangerous tackle and dangerous run, to OPs point.

Drake Maye is right there with Caleb Williams. Really think it’s a toss up between the two.
They're so different though which is a very nice contrast it's going to be exciting to watch, let's see how far UNC can go. I frankly wouldn't rule UNC out of the playoffs. Although still very unlikely but this team is very impressive with their backs, receivers and Maye they can move the ball on anybody.

@@n3d643 the 12-team format it was implemented this year yeah I think it's very possible for them to make it. However this is a complete shot in the dark and very low percent chance of even happening but you can't rule them out of the 4 playoffs discussion yet all it takes is a few team to slip up and for them to win out which they easily can and then beat presumably FSU in the title game which obviously having FSU is a better team but if Carolina's really hitting and FSU has been a little bit inconsistent they could easily land themselves in the playoffs but don't be coming back to this put me on blast I know it's a very low chance LOL
North Carolina has really been dominating their opponents lately as the Tar Heels continue to play fast and loose with passion. Drake Maye played really well today as he went 33-47 for 442 passing yards with 3 touchdowns. They beat Syracuse! Go Tar Heels!!!

Well after just what happened to Miami, I really think that Duke of all places is your biggest challenge ahead. And it's going to be a dog fight but I think UNC is a bad matchup for Duke in many ways and will win rather soundly in the end.
