Excellent video, Kirby! I really like the departure into something new. ASMR is actually responsible for me developing a passion for fine shoes and shoe care. Many years ago, before people were making videos intentionally for ASMR, I would often watch shoe shine tutorials to relax. Eventually, the passion for the craft that was evident in each video would rub off, and I decided to invest in better quality shoes. This hobby eventually led me to this channel.
So this video was particularly enjoyable for me.
Those shoes should go well with navy suit for war
That needs to be established.....
I remember when I was in A school staying up late shining my boots and dress shoes for inspection lol it was lowkey very relaxing
The man is an artist.
Love your channel, but I wonder why you don't spend time on the part under the welt? Those blotches of discoloration of black/brown seems to be an easy fix. However, as now now, they stand out more so than the shine itself
Well done.
Totally Zen! Unfortunately my shoes do not need treatment today.
Hi Kirby, in one of your videos, you featured a leather-bound journal that you use. I am not able to locate that video. Could you please direct me to it. Thanks!
...Now you know why people wax and polish their cars. Its relaxing, productive, and you can enjoy the effect all week.
Hi kirby, I thought we are not supposed to put wax where the shoe may bend? It looked like you waxed the entire shoe.
Key is to not overly wax. One or two coats with a hard wax polish will not crack. Anything more and, yes, you’ll see cracking.
Kirby, why not treat your shoe’s edges...
.
Anyway, I love your videos. Much love from Japan.
Video was running long and didn’t have time. Will on the next video. I worked on the edges afterwards and they look great! How do you like to treat your edges?

Kirby Allison I’ve always done it this way. ua-cam.com/video/HAFxvP4uzP0/v-deo.html
Why did he snip the laces?
@@dandiehm8414 thanks for answering
Adds in the middle of a ASMR video don't make it.
Still amazes me every-time I watch him him shine a pair of shoes in a suit. Maybe I'm just sloppy but there is simply no way I would not somehow manage to polish on my shirt if nothing else even though Saphir products are not as messy as others on the market.

Even if I have gloves on I mess up. There are polish on places you do not think of.
Nice touch kirby! I watched for the cigars initially. As I learned more of the bespoke process of garments and shoes, I truly began to love the art of it, and of course how relaxing it can be to watch and listen to passionate people creating the things they love. #tingles #ASMRtist
Just curious - why did you apply the renomat and renovateur without the shoe trees in?
I have a qustion. What is the difference between saphir medaille d'or and saphir surfine cream. I mostly buy brown shoes, and have only one black pair. So i was thinking about bying the surfine cream because im afraid it will dry out before i get to use the entire container.
What I have been waiting for!
What clubs in London can you recommend? M.
Put the speed to 2x, sounds even more satisfying if you’re into ASMR
Woah... That was an awesome suggestion.
Hello Kirby, thank you for the great content. I am beginning my journey into quality dress shoes. My question: Is it advisable to take off nice shoes when driving so as to prevent premature wear? Or is this an excessive measure?
I do, but I drive stick shift. If I were wearing loafers or perhaps nice boots I might not be as concerned.
Awesome channel, Mr. Allison.
Question, what is the wristwatch you have on in this video? and if you have a watch collection and could make a video about would be sweet!
I'm, always having trouble getting a mirror shine
Really enjoyed the vid!!! Taking shoe shine process to a whole new level. Awesome 🔥
Amazing! Thanks for the great content Kirby!! Best Regards. #ASMR
Hi Kirby, I've noticed in some of your videos, that you apply the polish with your fingers. Mostly, even with the cotton chamois, it's close to impossible to avoid getting some polish on your fingers & nails. My question - what, in your opinion, is the best way of removing this polish after you're done? Thanks.
Hello Kirby - I’m a huge fan of your chanel and your new videos are really superb! We have in fact met at NYC event a couple of years ago and since then I really grew to appreciate the MTO and bespoke shoe making versus simply designer shoes. I just purchased my first George Cleverly from your site - an espresso color slip-on - and I wonder how you would recommend to patina it to be LIGHTER in color. I love patinas and I love unusual and daring color combinations. I’m curious what your experienced sensibility would see in this Hauge model being lightened up. Thank you
Hello Kirby! It has been a while since I have been on your channel. I went back to one of your older videos on the Presidential Shoe Shine. You mentioned in that video that the Medaille D'OR Mink conditioning cream is the same thing as the Dubbin Graisse conditioner. Is there any instance where one would be better to use than the other? Or is the only difference the texture? Thanks!
ASMR, but of course. it was a video that was long due. good stuff, kirby.
(by the way, i haven't been commenting so much on your videos recently, but rest assured that i check out your channel regularly)
When shinning, should you always remove your shoe trees or should you leave them in according to the shoe? I noticed that you removed yours and wondered if there was any particular reason. Thankyou.
Kirby can you do a video on shoes that won’t take the wax. Tried putting some on my Allen Edmonds exchange place shoes and won’t take the saphir wax properly. Thanks
That was definitely a great job!it would perfect with cream on the side of the sole in the front of the shoe.
I just found what I’ll be sleeping to tonight! Thanks Kirby. BTW your hairline is 👍🏾
That's a nice watch! What is that piece that is politely peaking from your shirt cuff?
I think you could sell the audio as alternative to a “sounds of nature” CD! Another great job Kirby. Thanks.
Masterclass!
Seriously!? Please don’t. 😐
Loved it
Nice shoe
I don’t suppose that those are the lasted trees for the shoes? They look too small somehow.
@Travers Kilroy Cooper Alvirez Interesting... Perhaps another contributing factor on this pair in particular is that the shoes are seamless and thus stretch more (leather stretches more than seams).
Hi Kirby,
Been having a problem in the final stages of applying wax. I use saphir products to get a mirror shine. Prett much the same process you have. Move from a wax to three layers of mirror gloss then add a couple layers of wax on top and notice that a grainy smudge develops on one side of the toe. The rest of the toe holds a good mirror shine but this spot looks like a scuff that sticks out that develops between the layers. Has this ever happened using the saphir products? Or do you know what may be going wrong on the road to glacage?
I've noticed the same thing when I wax my Cole Haans. I'm seeing success by letting the shoe dry after I apply a layer of wax. After it drys, its more receptive to wax and the smudge doesn't permeate the wax, but then I have to let it dry again. It appears that a couple of more layers of wax should fix it.
@@zacharygraham5266 thanks! thats exactly what it needed: drying time!
Another great video. What is the benefit of wiping off Renomat with water vs. waiting to dry and brushing off, as per the directions?
I like to be sure I get as much of the Reno’Mat out of the leather as possible.
Kirby Allison thank you! I know it’s harsh stuff so that’s very logical.
ASMR? Pardon my ignorance
Google it. I had to also! 😂
Any good impression you make with a finely tailored suit, mirror shined shoes etc. is undone by the comical attempt to comb over your widow's peak.
Hi Kirby, why did you choose to clean/condition the shoes without the shoe trees in?
Thanks for all the videos and advice!
No particular reason. I put them back in mid-way through the shine.
