I'd argue we're pretty damn diverse these days, almost to the point of being diverse for sole purpose of being diverse. It's almost like everyone is searching for a way to be diverse these days, but the 90's was more fun and interesting because being diverse was being brave and different, whereas these days it's a trite social requirement. I ran into my mother at a Crystal Method / BT show not too long after this came out. She was late 40's I was just of age. It was weird smoking pot and drinking beer with my otherwise straight laced Mom. She made me promise not to tell my Dad. I made her promise too. 😁 I guess I didn't know!
It's aged well. Sounds dated but in a good way. I remember this stuff getting played out back then because they overused it to make things "cool". Movies, TV shows, commercials, etc. add techno to anything to make it cool and badass. Now it sounds nostalgically fresh again.
Man, in 97 things were starting to change and get busy. Prodigy and Chemical Brothers created a new genre that everyone wanted to play with, and Crystal Method and Death In Vegas were the most credible offshoots of that. The grunge crowd got on board, things were changing. Good times!

Now we have the kids coming up born from parents that never knew a world without all this anything noise everywhere, havent seen people go out in the world with both hands free ( not talking about bt headsets homie), instant information instantly providing instant news with instant autocorrect corrections , all the old fables and stories teach lessons on the price greed and laziness and overabundance carry , the universe has a balance and will find it's equilibrium, our choices direct whether this is a build up push out go all the way until 💥 or , a slow and steady, not too much now, warm bread and a cozy bed for the head way to experience this "Pull the wires from your teeth Your fingers from the keys Your spine from the cable And your eyes from the screen "

By the time Vegas came out, we already had: Music for the Jilted Generation Exit Planet Dust Leftism Dubnobasswithmyheadman Orbital 2 (The Brown Album) Otto Better Living Through Chemistry ... To name a few.
I started making electronic music in high school, early 2000s after have listened to Crystal Method, Prodigy, Astral Projection, Man With No Name, and other awesome artists from the late 90s era. Back then, subgenres were soooo divided and there were so many subscenes for each of the genres. Today it feels like it's one giant mish-mash and I stopped making electronic dance music after 2015. The scene is just not the same anymore, but I am hoping to see a grassroot revival one day soon.
In 2024 and am thinking those were good days to be young and in my early 20s at turn of century, to be a teen in 90s…the music and life wasn’t so bad then

Nothing else like this!! I used to listen to this at top volume with my 12’ subs rattling everyone’s windows as I cruised down my street. They made the hair rise on the back of my neck. Lots of great memories tied in with listening to this CD. The very best! I’m thankful for UA-cam because I know I wore out my CD!
The 90s was the best time for music and I loved so much that was out there. When I started going to clubs and raves I remember friends telling me this shit would never last and 25 years later it's influences are everywhere. Awesome to be the first off something, all the technology, all the concerts, all the drugs, it's just a different experience than most music.

Crystal Method... Truly one of the greatest bands of the late 90's.. Acid, XTC, alcohol, and SOBER! Maybe a nickel later in 2002, I trained with this music in route to winning the national championships in enduro ski racing.. The times when I couldn't friggen feel my hands and my throttle finger ghosted the throttle (I couldn't feel it.. only the slow down...). This and a few others flew through those hours of fun abuse.. Seriously, I was a later 80's techno guy... However, when I thought the serious jams were dead.. These people amped all of us up.. From the boys that just wanted to smoke, or drop, to (and especially), those of us who did all of that, but wanted to go full blast.. So glad to listen to this again..!

Hard to believe this was released 24 years ago in 1997. I'm pretty sure I had their cd Vegas in my single cd car player for a year. Saw them in Austin,Texas a few times in a couple rave warehouses. Still one of the best.

Crystal Method... Truly one of the greatest bands of the late 90's.. Acid, XTC, alcohol, and SOBER! Maybe a nickel later in 2002, I trained with this music in route to winning the national championships in enduro ski racing.. The times when I couldn't friggen feel my hands and my throttle finger ghosted the throttle (I couldn't feel it.. only the slow down...). This and a few others flew through those hours of fun abuse.. Seriously, I was a later 80's techno guy... However, when I thought the serious jams were dead.. These people amped all of us up.. From the boys that just wanted to smoke, or drop, to (and especially), those of us who did all of that, but wanted to go full blast.. So glad to listen to this again..!
