Imagine Zelda’s face after realizing that her sacrifice pretty much pointless, she had to carry that fucking sword stabbed into her forehead for millennia just for Link to not even give a flying fuck where it went and her master plan to pass the secret stones onto the sages’ descendants was all in vain because all was needed was Link’s sheer willpower to clap Ganondorf’s dehydrated cheeks.

They wanted a challenge after BotW became too easy to speedrun for them, so Nintendo gladly served the speedrunners the boss rush without a separate mode :)
Never underestimate the tenacity and no-lifeness of devoted fans and speedrunners. Someone will find a way to make this challenge a cakewalk.

You got to fight all the blights in Botw too? The only new thing here is the "army" part and that's there even if you complete all the main quests up to that?

it's interesting how differently you have to fight these bosses without the sages, especially the seized construct boss. I'm glad they improved the boss battles by a ton since botw, and actually making it seem like an insane challenge if you go straight to ganon.
I tried beating them with only 3 sage (water, Wind and fire). I can assure you they were hard but interesting for most part.
Seized construct is a bit hard as his attack have a huge hitbox meaning beet way to avoid damage is parrying or attacking.
Sadly, Seized construct can still suffer from element effect. It doesn't do much damage but the ability to stun him is Op.
Phantom Ganon was quite fun as you Can already learn how to beat one with a spear on the way to the battle. But when he start making copies of himself, forcing you to watch out for all of them it get even better as there are not too many ennemies, but still enough to make sure you can't just rush on one.
However, the "bug Queen" is fun until you reach the second phase where minions spawn, and idk if they are the same in the dungeon battle, but the ability to wither your health is annoying and they can't be killed easely when there are a lot of them. I was lucky to have some "wizard" weapon with me as they do quite a lot of damage to them with the elemental damage.

I didn't know hyrule castle's boss was part of this because I thought the castle was a prerequisite before being able to venture down to this final area
It is counted as the other 5 as far as I can tell. So while the fight was in charge of a fake version of a sage you get 1 fight per sage that exists
It is? Isn't that only part of the main quest line where you chase Zelda through the castle? which this all skips?
It's not a prerequisite, you can just jump into the chasm immediately.
I really enjoy fighting Colgera, I don't know why to be fair. It's an extremely easy boss to fight, but something about it just being a completely airborne battle... the music is really nice to

Pretty gutsy.
This is a game I'll probably never try to go straight to the boss in, not because of the boss run, but because there will always be that voice in the back of my mind reminding me that if I don't complete the story and get all the memories Zelda doesn't get turned back.

these bosses actually come back as normal if you beat them as intended at that point in the game, but usually the sages will fight them off and let you go straight to ganondorf
The fact that you can do this is monumentally funny to me, because it means that Ganondorf could have rehydrated at more or less any time since he's ready to fight you even if you book it straight to him, but instead decided to sit underneath Hyrule Castle and cope over how people like not being at war and that he beat Link too easily despite Rauru hyping him up back in his time, essentially just sulking until you come to talk to him about his secret stone's extended warranty. This man would have completely dominated Hyrule and (likely) curbstomped the weakened Link if he actually bothered to get off his ass and do something, but instead he lets you bumble about at your leisure until you go to him, its the pettiest shit I've seen a villain do in an age and I LOVE IT

Making your way to Ganon is much harder than Ganon himself.
I agree. Going in to the Hyrule Castle Depths was like going into the Upside Down and the 7 Rings of Hell. My confidence level to face Ganondorf later has dropped.
Unless you're not using any normal weapons then Ganon becomes a Dark Souls Boss.
Which is kinda lame. I wished the devs used the heart and stamina containers as as the treshold to "level up" Ganon. The more you train and waste time, Ganon also regains his power accordingly. For those unaware, you can destroy the Gibdo hives with bomb flowers. As long as they are actively spawning, it will work. You can see at 17:07 they attempt this, but the hive dimmed right as they shot the arrow which is why it failed. You have to wait for it to be bright if you want to destroy it.
